No Car...No Go

Whycome I can't get the car to go anywhere. The wheels turn in park but dey car no go with the W key. Got them to walk ok with dey W key but dey car, dey goes no wear. Howcome that don't werks. American college graduate here...Hove kerse!

ok guys, here I am for my next go round, can anybody tell me how I can get my car to go? I think, on consideration that it is probably an important part of the game, lol. So how do I get the bucket of bolts to go. I tried changing the throttle key to the up arrow but that didn't work either. The wheels turn but she no go forward. Now, when I went to a different chapter I got them to walk with the W, but when they got into the car, whammo!, no forward motion. Any ideas? Bob, I know you know alot about this game, can you help please? Or, anyone? Budding detective.

Well, I'm offically baffled.
The guys walk around like they are supposed to do everything they are supposeds to do except when they get into the car. They enter and exit like they are supposed to but....no driving in this game for me! I do not see any entry for game controls to select off for controls, and I see nothing for verify integrity of game cache. Up ***t's creek, Bob and short two paddles of a set. Joe Friday...I'm not!

Junior G-man here, verified the integrity of the files, said there was one file missing and would acquire. If it did that this is the first I heard of it. Game controller set to off and then...Voila', nothing. No forward, no backward, turns left and turns right. These guys must have flunked the drivers ed. At a loss. Am not going to shut off the computer, restart and see if that helps. ClarkX in the world of the clueless.

yep....restarted the computer and started up0 the game R* must think I'm hacking their site so when, again, the vehicle didn't run I got them out of the car and made them walk to the scene. Boy, talk about game play length! Everything worked fine until the time it came to drive away. Vehiceless in LA don't make it. Love the game, love the graphics but the car! The car she no run Tony!

I had the same symptom which had me flumoxed for ages. Bob gave me the fix. Even though controls were set to "keyboard and mouse" and controller was "off", simply having a USB game controller plugged in stopped the throttle key from working. Everything else was fine. I just could not accelerate the car. As soon as I unplugged the unused USB controller everything started to work.
