Resolution & Full Screen Issues
I decided to give this game another try, since it has been a few years since I initially tried it. Unfortunately, I am having issues with the resolution and full screen. I have looked through other threads, but none are solving my specific issue. My monitor has max resolution of 3440x1440.

The first issue is that when I set my in game resolution to 2560x1440, the game is stretching to fill the 3440x1440 screen. I tried fixing this by adjusting my desktop resolution to 2560x1440. This worked, but now the game appears to not be able to enter full screen (I have a half blue bar at the top of the game window). When in this mode if I try the alt+enter shortcut keys it just puts the game into the stretched format again.

I have not tried the ultrawide mod for the game. I don't see why it would be an issue, but I know I have seen some people talking about how certain alterations with the base game like increasing FPS can mess up the facial animations. If the ultrawide mod does not alter the faces maybe that would be my best option, but can anyone confirm one way or the other whether it would alter the animations?

Thanks for any help given!

if you are playing on ultrawide, you will need to patch the game, since the FoV and UI does not scale correctly. In fact, the unmodded game will even refuse to show ultrawide resolutions in the settings.

You try using V-Patch:

The FPS will not break facial animations, but since they are played at a lower FPS, they might appear slightly laggy. I personally don't mind it, but if you do, you can set a lower FPS limit in the config of the patch.

You can try to go to your Graphics Card Software and go to 'Display Settings' and search for an option named 'GPU Scaling'.. enable that and put 'Scaling mode' on 'Preserve Aspect Ratio'

I don't know if you have an Nvidia or an AMD Graphics Card but at least in the AMD Software (the one that I have) you can do that and my problems of not being able to put my game in fullscreen stopped.

Try that.

I tried to mess with the GPU scaling but that did not work. I may not have done it correctly though. I then decided to try the ultrawide mod. That works great! Everything seemed to function well and it is nice being able to play in ultrawide. Thanks for the help!

Nevermind i figured it out, at loading screen you can change it, not sure why you downloaded a mod for it. I have it finally rendering correctly with 2560 1440p.

The aforementioned mod allows the game physics to handle higher FPS values without causing issues.
