Alot of the time it is an issue on the Users End. GTA IV runs perfect for me and LA Noire launches and works fine in 4K. Rockstar is the best.
No, they suck up updating. GTA IV was notoriously horribly optimized for PC. Literally the only time they updated it was to excise content.
The funny thing is I've had less problems with it than with GTA V. I ran that game beautifully for 170 hours and then overnight me and millions of people had issues after the last DLC launched.
Yeah, sure, I guess the game took 170 hours to figure out my drivers were out of date or suddenly realize I had the wrong hardware. Seriously, read the forum history. That game is the motherlode of memory leaks and buggy patches.
What worked for me (I'm in Windows 7) was going to my main "C" drive/ Program Files(x86)/ Rockstar Games/ Social Club and running the "uninstallRGSCRedistributable.exe" then running LA Noire so it forced an update and installed Social Club again properly.
So, I disconnected from the internet and the launcher is giving me an option to play in offline mode, still the game is crashing without any error message
