30 FPS Lock Screen Tearing solution!
Nvidia users: enable G-sync in-settings, as per usual, w/ V-sync set to enable application setting (not On as is Default, nor Off, as can cause problems with some games), and set monitor in in-game settings to your default resolution & Hz (refresh rate--not frames per second)

AMD users: enable Freesync, or, alternatively, for those with non-Freesync monitors--same goes for Nvidia users with non-G-sync monitors--set in-game settings to your default resolution & FPS (frames per second--not refresh rate), which is capped at 30FPS, so X by X resolution by 30

The game looks quite nice, and there's no reason to turn DirectX to 9 instead of 11 if you can handle the product. It took me all of 30minutes to figure this out, and I hope you enjoy this classic as much as I am. Being as that the software was designed for a 30FPS cap--not to prevent people from getting better FPS than others because it's not "necessary" but because rather that the technology of the day wasn't capable--I don't recommend after reading about this issue unlocking the FPS with a 3rd party programme (not possible with the latest update perportedly) because it causes physics lag, clipping, & facial animation glitches. I'm currently running Windows 10 x64 with a fresh & clean installation as of late August, 2015.

Yep, very helpful. Before I found this fix the screen tearing rendered the game unplayable. Thanks heaps.
