New Update

Much like Max Payne 3, L.A. Noire has got its very first update since 2012.

It adds none other than the infamous Rockstar Launcher.

On the plus side, that means the game now supports cloud saves, as well. It also runs fine on Windows 10, so you don't need to run with Admin Rights anymore.

Also, if you have bought the normal edition before, your game will automatically become the Complete Edition, meaning you'll also get the DLCs.

The Broderick Detective Suit
The Sharpshooter Detective Suit
The Badge Pursuit Challenge & Button Man Suit
“The Naked City" Vice Case
"A Slip of the Tongue" Traffic Case
"Nicholson Electroplating" Arson Case
"Reefer Madness" Vice Case
“The Consul’s Car” Traffic Case

Note: These changes do not apply to L.A. Noire: The VR Case Files versions of the game.

This sounds like it would work, however writing "-DX11" in the launch options does nothing for me, the game still launches in DX9 (it says DX9 in the bottom left in the game even after adding the command line)

Damn :/ If the command line didn't work, what you could do now is change the settings.ini file that is in Documents/Rockstar Games/L.A. Noire.

By opening the ini, you have to change the Renderer option; replace DirectX 9 with DirectX 11.

Yes! This finally worked, thank you. Was able to change all settings without crashing now, but now I see what everyone was talking about that the game is locked to 30 fps. Is there any way to unlock the framerate or at the very least lock it to 60 fps instead?

As for the frame rate, unfortunately, the Widescreen Fixer and L.A. Noire Unlocker no longer work :( That is because the game has its exe updated. Those two fixes were working only for the 2012 exe.

• Start the game
• Alt-Tab to ArtMoney
• Select the process L.A. Noire and click “Search”

• Enter the value 59.94000, Type – “Float(standard)”
If u get more adresess; the adress ending by 878 is right one..

• Add the found value to table and change it to:
119.88 – for 60 FPS cap
99.90 – for 50 FPS cap
79.92 – for 40FPS cap

• Alt-Tab to game

This one seems to work on the Rockstar Launcher version of the game. Since the Steam version now has the launcher, as well, it may work.

Also i have used the cheat engine for 60 fps unlocking. Hopefully it still works

So generous of C* after 10 years....vast minority bought only base game without DLC. Absolute majority bought straight LA Noire Complete Edition.

I hoped they wouldn't touch LA Noire and MP3 with their C* Launcher BS.
