How to Fix LA Noire UPDATED 12/14/2015!

If you are still stuck at the neon screen , follow Lhaines instructions below.

UPDATE :
In combo with the download, Lhaines fix seems to be working for users. Try this if you installed the updated social club and are still stuck at the neon lights.

Just bought the game yesterday, same problem. This fixed it for me. Right clicked the game in my library >Properties >Local Files>Verify Integrity of Game Cache. Steam found 1 error and reinstalled some files. This allowed me to start the game by selecting "offline mode".

This lead me to my next problem. Got stuck on neon sign screen while synchronizing. I found a fix in another post, fixed it by reinstalling Rock* Social Club. My game is now working.

Update 2 :
User Zino reports that setting to Windows 7 comptibility mode fixed his issues.
I had the same issue, starting the game in compatibility mode worked fine for me. Just right click on LANoire.exe in the game folder, hit properties, go to compatability, select the checkbox and choose Windows 7 for example. You won't be able to update now, but you can play the game.

Update 3 :
If the game is crashing with the LA Noire screen and giving direct X errors try setting the game to use DirectX 11.

Make sure to make the "Social club" launcher to run as Administartor. Worked for me. I deleted the current social club version ans installed the new one "Krazystyle" gave me. After installing it should be under C/program files(x86)/rockstar/socialclub. btw I'm running Windows 10 Pro 64bit

Close out of LA Noire completely, Uninstall rockstar social club from Add / Remove, Install the link above, Start LA Noire, Click offline Mode, Skip the social club registration with the tiny link

I just download the social club update and this in fact works9. i was stuck on the synchronizing as well. So I downloaded this social club update. Went into C/program files(x86)/rockstar/socialclub and right click the application, go into properties and navigate until you find the button to run as administrator. This makes it so when you run the LA Noir launcher it automatically starts the social club in Admin mode. You can not simply right click and run as admin because the LA launcher needs to be running. Then instead of opening from steam I went into the C/programfiles(x86)/steam/steamapps/common/lanoire and ran the launcher as admin to. It opened the launer and began to update the game. Didn't even have to run in offline mode and it works perfectly. Thanks to Krazy for the updatre info, I think admin mode is the key.

none work for me either. it used to work till the damn update recently im very angry at this and support from the game maker is a disgrace. the game is excellent but now its a damn joke. i have now given up trying and will request a refund such a shame cause it was 1 of my fav games. i wont ever purchase a game made by these ever again support lmao should be called lack of support.

Windows 8 users who are attempting to install the disc version for the first time will need to use the following manual links in order to update to the latest version, which is compatible with Windows 8.

LAN Patch for the game that works for windows 10 Pro too , don t forget to add the social hub to Windows firewall exceptions first !

It's ridiculous.
If I install the pirate version, it works.
We pay for the game, and can't play.
If steam don't fix this, I'll reclaim for refund and tell them to ask to pirate group, for learning how to make an game works.
