Yeah, so anyone else run into this? Clearly I have a internet connection and it's enough to download something, that's for sure. Anyone know how to get this? I just ignored it after trying again over a 100 times and pressed offline mode. But that just led me to an endless sychronziation.

Make sure to make the "Social club" launcher to run as Administartor. Worked for me. I deleted the current social club version ans installed the new one "Krazystyle" gave me. After installing it should be under C/program files(x86)/rockstar/socialclub. btw I'm running Windows 10 Pro 64bit

Just bought the game yesterday, same problem. This fixed it for me. Right clicked the game in my library >Properties >Local Files>Verify Integrity of Game Cache. Steam found 1 error and reinstalled some files. This allowed me to start the game by selecting "offline mode".

This lead me to my next problem. Got stuck on neon sign screen while synchronizing. I found a fix in another post, fixed it by reinstalling Rock* Social Club. My game is now working.

Yesterday I downloaded the game and met with this problem for the first time (L.A. Noire player since 2012). Today I just downloaded Social Club 1.1.6.8 and now it's okay, game runs without any problems. Win7 x64.

Download the update from https://kat.cr/rockstar-games-social-club-1-1-6-8-t11656289.html . It's a torrent, site, but it'll work.
Unfortunately, Rockstar's site doesn't work at the moment

Run in offline mode after the first fail. The game will then load normally and have you sign into the social club.

And Although twhitingtwhiting9275 recommended a non-rockstar link to download the installer, it's not recommended as those installers often have malware/viruses embedded in them.

The NALLauncher and NALPatcher should update properly as should the manual link from thr official rockstar support website.

I downloaded it just like twhiting9275 but from other link and nothing happened to my pc yet. Game works normal. And I also checked the link as you said and yes it's okay now. I think we can call it happy end D:

This is why there's this little known tool called Antivirus software!!! Use it
Rockstar's links were down and unavailable. People wnant to play. While, yes, it would have been better for Rockstar's links to be up, they were not, for at least 24h.
