problem with the sound!

I bought this game like 2 days ago and when i play it the sound just dies out. I cant hear the people talking and this makes the game really hard because I cant interrogate people. Its just the sound when people talk that disappear everything else works just fine. I use a 7.1 surround sound headset can this cause the problem?

My first guess is to look in the options menu, dialogue might be down, if not, then I reccomend looking it up, you can't be the only person on the internet with this problem

The game automatically recognizes at start your speaker configuration, so before launch the game check your headset setup just to be sure.

Also check your audio/headset's software drivers for updates.

I play just fine with my Razer Tiamat 7.1+Creative SB X-Fi and Windows 10
No audio problems so far.
