L.A. Noire vs Mafia II
Both games set in similar time period, which one has the better graphics you think? I only really have time to play 1, was leaning to Noire since I'll probably try Mafia 3 when it drops.

I think both of them are quite equal in graphics, but in LA Noir they did put extra effort in the facial animations and expressions, filming real face expressions and put them into the game.

But overall they're quite different games. You don't get to solve cases, find clues, interview ppl and choose which one is guilty in Mafia 2.

Mafia II is like an empty GTA with very focused missions and nothing to do in between, La noire is more an adventure... I liked Mafia a lot more than LA Noire... but that's just me.

You can't compare them. They are both different games and both great.

Amusingly, L.A. Noire is the only one of the two that you can actually buy and play on Steam.

In terms of general design/theme though, they are quite different. I'd recommend that if you're going to pick up Mafia III when it comes out that you play L.A. Noire in the mean time, only due to the fact that each installment of the Mafia series doesn't require you to have played the previous ones.

I own both of them here on Steam and have played both of them successfully.

Having assumed that the OP was wondering which one to purchase, my remark was referencing the fact that Mafia II is no longer available to buy on Steam and thus impossible to play on here without having bought it prior to its removal.

Probably should've made my original post more clear, but you get the idea.

Oh I didn't realise that it has disappeared for sale from Steam, that's odd since Mafia 3 will be on Steam when released. Sorry my bad, I thought it was still buyable.

But even if it is not for sale here maybe one can find another reseller that sells valid licence keys which works to use on the Steam client to get the game here anyway.

All good. My original post was just a quick joke anyway. They're still both great games in their own right and should be played.

Something about music licensces are the reason Mafia II is no longer availble, which is a pretty dumb reason, the music is okay but not like a huge part of the game I think.

I 've played about 3 hrs into Mafia II, tried to play some of L.A. Noire but was immediatly hit by stuttering, not sure why, I have sli 980's but somethings up

Lol no. The music is a MASSIVE part of the creative feel of Mafia II. It is CRITICAL to the feel of the eras and settings.
