So yeah, some patch out there had to have hosed the game. I've tried the Steam verify cache and it notes that a corrupt file has been replaced. But it still crashes all the same even with the fix. What is wierd is that repeated verify cache operations report the same issue and fix.
MS reports that MSVCR90.dll is a basic runtime library which include strcpy() that when called inappriopriately will crash a program (been there, done that). But as an aside, such buffer overflows, which in the right (err wrong) hands, may be used as an exploit to crack a computer.
PLEASE, HELP!
I will reply, hopefully in the end they will do something about it. But I wouldn't get my hopes up
a)Won't i get banned?
b)Will i get achievements?
It probably conflicts with Steam at a cerain point so I think it isn't safe
Thanks for the tip Ozone, Im almost desperate enough to risk it though. Literally spent over 12 hours trying to fix it over the last 3 days... 3 days of "gaming" turned into this..... Well I appreciate you and all others trying to help at least.
