I have the same problem. I tried all fixes out there, even the registry fixes and still not working. In my case, even the launch menu does't pop-up. When I click "Play", the L.A. Noire auto-updater shows up for like one second and then disappears and the button refreshes to "Play" status again. I am honestly quite unsatisfied with the fact that I have not been able to play the game since initial purchase.
Yeah this exact thing happens to me
Let me do some research
I've tried:
- verifying integrity of games cache
- launching steam as admin around 10 times (does absolutely nothing no idea tf kinda bs everyone's throwing around about that magically fixing it)
- setting compatibility mode of the .exe file and the launcher to WinXP service pack 3 and Win7
- downloading the registry files and running them from this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eXfLGmQXX_o
- Also changed the drive letters within those registry files
- installing DirectX manually from the "3rd" folder in the game's files
- I have the latest graphics driver already
- I opted out of any Steam Beta programs, this changed nothing
- Updated Rockstar Games Launcher to the latest version, didnt change anything
And none of it changed anything at all.
Same for me. Tried on two different devices and met the same outcome :(.
Worked for me, but also have the game and steam to run as admin (only this didn't work).
Thanks.
I'm on the " After that go to Steam shortcut and rick click and press run as admin " part.
But I do not get the run as admin option when I right click on my Steam Icon on taskbar.
I have fully logged out of Steam account. And I did d/l latest version of Direct X. DXSETUP was run as well.
