Xbox One Controller Issues

So I finally got the game going, and it worked fine. Then I decided I want to play it with my Xbox One controller, and had issues as the game just would not recognize it. Playing around I eventually got it to work by force off the Input Settings in the properties of the game.
Worked fine, but today all of a sudden it doesnt work anymore.
The only thing I can do with the controller is open the Rockstar Social Club (so the game DOES recognize it, but it decides not to let me play with it.)
I tried plugging off mouse/keyboard before starting the game too, no luck.
Anyone got ideas?

Just set the controle scheme to "default" instead of "xbox game controller" on Steam settings.

Didnt do anything. I had to keep it completely disabled, and restarting the PC afterwards helped.
