LA NOIRE WILL NOT START WINDOWS 10 FIX!

Hey guys as the above title states i have figured out the fix for LA Noire not starting on some systems. Close steam completely.
once this is done start it back up by right clicking on the steam shortcut and clicking run as an administrator once you have done that find your LA Noire shortcut and run it as an admin as well.

once this is done steam will install a missing patch the the game and will allow the game to run!

Note once this is done once there is no need to run it as an admin every time it is just needed once so that steam has the required permission to install a missing patch!

calm down no need to comment and be an ass i just figured hey it helped me so ill post it and if it helps someone else so be it. if it has been posted already ... good! just figured id post because i seen so many ppl having an issue with the game not working that it was worth a post... lol have a good day!

Can anyone offer any further guidance on this issue? I am on Windows 10 as well and was getting a message trying to launch the game for the first time saying "The Launcher cannot query DirectX. Please update DirectX by installing the latest redistributable." After having been through a bunch of stuff it is still giving me the message :'(

Stuff I have tried:
* Shutting down and restarting then running Steam and LA Noire- didn't work.
* Running Steam as an Admin then opening LA Noire (don't have the option to run that as an Admin it seems)- didn't work.
* Gone into the Properties of the game in Steam and clicked on 'Verify integrity of game files'- didn't work.
* Ran steamapps\common\L.A.Noire\3rd\DXSETUP.exe- failed the installation with a message of "An internal system error occured" then it referred me to error logs I don't know how to get to.

Have tried multiple combinations of the above but still no joy. If anyone has any thoughts I would really appreciate them- I would love to play the game but looks like a refund might be necessary :(

Hi guys! I know how to fix the problem. For those who can not run the game on Windows 10 you have to:
- As first go to the game folder \SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\L.A.Noire, find L.A.Noire game launcher file, then click on it righ mouse button and choose Preferences.
- In preferences choose tab which is called Сompatibility. Then in field Compatibility Mode in dropdown u have to choose Windows Vista. Then press OK, and don`t forget to accept changes! Then launch the game like administrator. Have to be done. Please comment bellow if it helped. I fixed my own game this way.

Would love to report this fixed it, but alas I still have the issue.

Uhh, yes you ARE being a ****. First off, just because YOU knew about the "run as admin" fix doesn't mean HE didn't know about it. Second, run as admin (though highly insecure and really not recommended for anything internet connected) is a common debugging step, along with fiddling with the compatibility settings.

The only question is whether he is helping people who didn't know about this technique and he is. End of story.

You're failing to understand what I'm saying. I never said he wasn't trying to help people. That's fine. I'm glad he is, but if you actually READ what I said you would understand. I said that he claimed that he was the founder and that he found the fix.... He did not. It's been around for a while. Re read what he said and re read what I said and then realize how much of a fool you were for calling me the ♥♥♥♥ when I was not being one at all... :|
