How do I not suck
Just got the game, and I’m terrible. Does anyone have basic tips for success in legend bowl? What moves do you find useful when running? What type of passes do you go for?

The NFL mod is sick, this game is a lot of fun but I don’t know how to get better and would appreciate your help, thank you!

1st recommendation: use the Practice mode to test out plays. Turn the play selection display on so you know what the defense is running pre-play (in settings). Find what plays work best for you as there are a variety of designed plays.

2: your pre-snap read on offense is important. Learn to read what the defense is going to do based on how they line up against your offense. You'll be able to tell if it's Man or Zone or make an educated guess.

3. Timing is everything on passing. If your receiver is running a Deep Out (10-15 yds then cut towards the sideline), your timing will determine the receivers route. If you throw it early on a Deep Out, before the receiver cuts towards the sideline, the QB will lead them straight ahead. If you throw it after they cut, it will lead them towards the sideline. If you time your pass just right, you can press the receiver's button before the cut and release it after they cut. This will get the ball over to the receiver before the defender can correct and cover the receiver, leaving them a bit more open.

4. Running the ball is tough and as noted above, your pre-snap read is vital to success. Count the defenders in the box (from Tackle to Tackle, 7 yards back). If there are more defenders in that box than you have blockers, you're gonna have a bad time. Audible out of a run if it looks like you're about to get stuffed. Use your speed to get to open space and avoid defenders. You can use special moves (juke/spin/stiff arm/etc) for different situations. If you have multiple defenders in your path, using the spin move can get you through them. Try timing it so you spin into them (D-pad towards the defenders and time the spin a bit early so you'll kind of spin towards & into them).

5. Defensive playcalling can be difficult if you aren't paying attention to what offensive personnel your opponent chooses. when picking a defensive play, look for what offensive personnel they're choosing (should be on the left hand side (will say something like: 1 RB 1TE 3WR). You want to make sure you have enough defensive backs covering those WR's so a Nickel formation would be wise. If they have a lot of Running Backs, you might want a 3-4 defense.

6. Playing Defense can also be difficult if you're taking yourself out of the play. If you choose to play a Linebacker and the play called requires that linebacker to cover someone, you have to cover that offensive player or they'll get open. Getting through the Offensive Line can be VERY difficult from the interior and you have a better chance of getting to the QB as and Edge rusher, but know this: Ai QB's are usually very good at throwing the ball away if there's pressure. You might find it difficult to sack the QB. I personally like to choose man coverage defenses and playing Free Safety (or the fastest safety) and covering the deep routes/playing last man back in case a ball carrier breaks free. The "Bend But Don't Break" mentality works great in Legend Bowl. You might give up chunk plays but as long as you stop a ball carrier, you give yourself another chance for a stop. Field Goals aren't guaranteed in Legend Bowl, even for Ai.

7. When a ball carrier is gassed, they have a higher chance of fumbling. If you're running near the sideline and you're gassed, try and get out of bounds to prevent a fumble.

Using practice mode will help you learn plays and get better at defense. With anything, the more you play, the better you'll get.
