Is there any reason why I can't rotate the spells/skills at will?

Sometimes the spell/skill can be rotated, other times it can't. All that within the same range. It seems to only work when it wants to.

You can rotate skills only when they are aimed strictly diagonally.

That's rather...annoying to say the least. having rotation only on certain pixels on the screen feel like cheap difficulty. It doesn't hurt to give us rotation as long as the spell is in range.

The idea is that the spell has a dispersion that is typically perpendicular to the direction of travel. That's fixed except on the diagonal where it could go either way.

Skill is disperse from your hero direction.
Lets take a fire extinguisher example in real life and tell me how you "rotate AOE direction"

The real answer is it's to make the game harder, you have to position in a particular way to get the good aoe sometimes - which usually entails getting closer to the horde of enemies
