1) You need beat the head 3 times in order to win the map.
2) If head is alive, the tail will respawn. So..... Always go for head 1st. Only head and tail both killed, the boss will only advance to next stage.
3) You need build "boss/elite killer" rifle man, 1h xbow user is good especially if the head is far. Opportunistic/Isolation also helpful
4) You need more heroes to kill the head fast. Delaying your victory = much more infinite mob coming to your base.
5) I have few heroes equip with teleport scroll, Just when 5 of my heroes almost kill the head for the 3rd time, I need more 600 damage to win. I have 1 melee hero run from another lane + teleport scroll + haste potion from another hero just to reach the boss and kill it in time. Delaying 1 more turn will result in my lose due to multiple mob near the seal.
6) ALT-F4 can let you retry from last save file. Note, your last save file is either "the end of the day" or "the last time you go to quit to main menu". So I recommend do not quit to main menu during this night. Can give you some retry or tactical reshuffle rather than play through 11 nights again
You know the general location of the boss spawn, so having 3/4 hero there to nuke it asap is a possibility.
GGWP you won wave 3.
60% critical along with +3 multihit:) Meaning one guy was able to attack it 14 times for 4 AP. Beside the last dragon head, the one that can breathe insta kill on your heroes 4 tiles away, i could kill all parts within 1 turn.
You always need a boss killer for later boss anyway, lot of movement, energy potion, teleportation portal/scroll... but yes the game is not "easy peasy" and maps are very long +6 hours just to die because of lack of information and the discovery.
however I do not test the apocalypse until I complete the game and have unlocked almost all of the meta progression.
Needed 2 runs on Gilderburg (thanks to my son poiting out how the Harpys functioned otherwise I'd taken me a 3rd attempt most likely.
Managed Lakeburg on 2nd run. Was taken completely by surprise by where boss spawned and hadnt strong boss killers. Learnt and cleared it on 2nd attempt (normal difficulty still).
Went on and succeded in Glenwald on first attempt but was only 1 monster hit away from having Circle destroyed.
Elderlicht beat me long before last night. (Difficulty now lowered...before full release the monsters had night 3 or 4 stats on 1st night. Thats been lowered a bit now.) Got to last night on 2ns attempt. Understood the mechanics but was surprised by the Boss' behavior and got trashed. Even if I had known beforehand my boss-killing-strength was very much lacking anyhow. Learnt and improved and completed on 3rd attempt.
Recently finished Glintfein. On 1st attempt (normal) and I had a much better understanding of all item and perks mechanics and that was very much needed. Lots more to keep track of in that map. Different than previous maps.
Do you think i can win the Boss fight anyway ? i surelly miss lot of gold/stuff/defense ...
rofl i just made a post about this. 21 hours in and im only now seeing it too. i SWEAR to god this wasnt an option before todays patch.
