How do i beat lakeburg??
I killed the tail of the fish thing, then the head, they disappeared and came back, had 4 heroes delaying the bad dudes while a rifleman and a druyd type guy where nuking him. I figured it would appeared again but i beat the tail then head for the second time just for it to spawn far away once again. I wipes my walls and everything everytime it shows up, how do i beat this thing?

A few key things
1) You need beat the head 3 times in order to win the map.
2) If head is alive, the tail will respawn. So..... Always go for head 1st. Only head and tail both killed, the boss will only advance to next stage.
3) You need build "boss/elite killer" rifle man, 1h xbow user is good especially if the head is far. Opportunistic/Isolation also helpful
4) You need more heroes to kill the head fast. Delaying your victory = much more infinite mob coming to your base.
5) I have few heroes equip with teleport scroll, Just when 5 of my heroes almost kill the head for the 3rd time, I need more 600 damage to win. I have 1 melee hero run from another lane + teleport scroll + haste potion from another hero just to reach the boss and kill it in time. Delaying 1 more turn will result in my lose due to multiple mob near the seal.
6) ALT-F4 can let you retry from last save file. Note, your last save file is either "the end of the day" or "the last time you go to quit to main menu". So I recommend do not quit to main menu during this night. Can give you some retry or tactical reshuffle rather than play through 11 nights again

Kill head first, tail will respawn otherwise. There's 3 phase to this boss, the first is Blue snake and tail, second is yellow snake and tail, third is red snake head alone. It's over once you beat red head.

You know the general location of the boss spawn, so having 3/4 hero there to nuke it asap is a possibility.

Best heroes for this are rangers with longbows imo. They can keep your sides in check as well as nuking boss when needed. The boss being isolated makes your archer dudes deal with them very easily, get big game hunter for them from the perks last row, the one that boosts isolation by accuracy also helps.

Holy crap i did it ! after 3x 8 hours attempt i found out that just 2 of these dudes using the small crossbows were op against it, maximized multi-hit, one had x6 multihit and the other x5 with gear bonus + that perk in which if you dont kill something, you get 2 extras multihit that + specialized and i could use the basic attack like 5 times for 5 hits, the best combo imo, but wasnt that easy after all, its just that im so happy i did it ! :steammocking:

Yup, will never succeed that one first try. I really didn't expect a boss that couldn't be reached by melee.

Put your 6 dude near the lake, kill head and tail 3x time.

GGWP you won wave 3.

I finally got to the 12th night and killed the tail first. RIP ME. lol

I went with wand users to kill the thing:)
60% critical along with +3 multihit:) Meaning one guy was able to attack it 14 times for 4 AP. Beside the last dragon head, the one that can breathe insta kill on your heroes 4 tiles away, i could kill all parts within 1 turn.

3 times ?! bloody hell :yawp:

I just beat this boss and honestly I don't think it was a good design. You need to know specific info about this boss to beat it. You need to know a ranged boss killer is almost mandatory. You need to know to stall the sides. You need to know not to kill tail first. You need to know to kill it three times.

Once you know all that, sure you can do it. But it's just too specific of a solution to make it interesting imo. I beat it on Apoc II or w/e on my 2nd try because I knew these things, but my first was doomed even tho I made a good group. Not overall fun for me.

You always need a boss killer for later boss anyway, lot of movement, energy potion, teleportation portal/scroll... but yes the game is not "easy peasy" and maps are very long +6 hours just to die because of lack of information and the discovery.

however I do not test the apocalypse until I complete the game and have unlocked almost all of the meta progression.

I very much enjoy going in blind and not fully knowing what is waiting.

Needed 2 runs on Gilderburg (thanks to my son poiting out how the Harpys functioned otherwise I'd taken me a 3rd attempt most likely.

Managed Lakeburg on 2nd run. Was taken completely by surprise by where boss spawned and hadnt strong boss killers. Learnt and cleared it on 2nd attempt (normal difficulty still).

Went on and succeded in Glenwald on first attempt but was only 1 monster hit away from having Circle destroyed.

Elderlicht beat me long before last night. (Difficulty now lowered...before full release the monsters had night 3 or 4 stats on 1st night. Thats been lowered a bit now.) Got to last night on 2ns attempt. Understood the mechanics but was surprised by the Boss' behavior and got trashed. Even if I had known beforehand my boss-killing-strength was very much lacking anyhow. Learnt and improved and completed on 3rd attempt.

Recently finished Glintfein. On 1st attempt (normal) and I had a much better understanding of all item and perks mechanics and that was very much needed. Lots more to keep track of in that map. Different than previous maps.

Going in blind works for me with the immersion. "The Commandor" goes in, dies, learns and repeats. So I do the same. lol
