LakeBurg boss caught me by surprise because I never seen it before.
So few times ALR-F4 and reposition a bit at day time , then beat it.
Does alt f4 loos all battle progres?
Yeah last harpy i had to lure it to the centre of the willage to get it, i was completely out of mana.
Redone it and beat it easily with strategically placed teleporters and high mobility heroes. Currently doing the very ominously named fourth town, halfway through so far. Every night is a struggle bc starting heroes all suck, but that's just life.
Which means you can't retry the whole night.
I use alt F4 because I very sure the last save is at the end of day.
So the only thing I can do is slightly reposition, or buy some item if i still keep any gold
The requirement to unlocking an inn is to survive until a certain day in the first town (I think it was 4 out of 7). So it has nothing to do with luck. They managed to balance unlocks very close to the point when you need them. There will be several unlocks in the second town too where if you use them as soon as you unlock them you have much easier time than if you unlock them but don't use (For example, I spent all my workers before I built a seer so didn't push the fog away right after unlocking it and enemies in the next night started just two squares away from my walls. It was a very difficult battle).
If you used ALT+F4 then you didn't do it on the first go. The surprise when you get into the unknown is what gets you on the first try. If you check the battle and then just retry it is not exactly the same as going blindly and managing to survive it anyway.
What didn't tell you how to buy heroes? You must have skipped reading it when you unlocked it because it does tell you that you can buy them in the Inn when you unlock it. I remember I've read about being able to hire a hero as soon as I started the first town because uncompleted unlocks are also displayed in a list so I just waited for the requirement to complete and bought them as soon as possible. And it is hard to miss the button that lets you buy a hero because it appears both in the inn and on commander's panel in a list of your actions for the day. I recommend reading about all things that you unlock right when you unlock them (or maybe even right when they appear in the list so you can check if you need to focus on certain requirements) instead of just quickly clicking Unlock and then forgetting to build or check them.
Lake map I'm at night 10 currently and it's very easy for some reason so far. I know that the boss is not dryads here since they were moved to the third map way back when, but I hope that new one will be beatable. Just got me a hero with insane poison damage which I capitalised on (druid staff's bee sting gives 127 poison damage now).
Waves spawn and instantly die, including the big boys.
It will be funny if boss dies to this too :D
I havent used it on second map yet, but maybe i was lucky with my choices, i am all in balista spam... even heros get xp from them
Mines give both passive and active income. Check their description, they give some income at the beginning of the day (25/day without upgrades) and you can also activate their ability by spending workers. Crafting works the same way. Buildings provide one item for free at the beginning of the day and you can also spend workers to craft more. Same with the buildings that increase max hp and mana daily. They increase it at the beginning of each day and also have an active abilty which requires workers.
I actually recommend checking all buildings and their abilities and possible upgrades. There are a lot of things that can be missed if someone just rushes or is overwhelmed by information at the beginning and then forgets to check those things again.
For heroes to get xp from them they must have a special perk taken. Otherwise exp is just wasted. I am not sure how it works though. If all exp collected by ballistas is given to everyone with a perk or if it is shared among all of them.
You can even put tier 2 wooden walls before them. Or you can build advanced ballistas which can shoot from behind even the stone walls (but they cost a lot more).
2nd map i made to night 10 and got swamped, fell behind on construction, built a hero really badly, and had 2 of my core guys stuck on level 2 weapons lol. Entirely my bad.
