Now if you had to kill both bosses at the same time ugh...
Sure it sucks a lot if you lose since getting to the boss takes a long time, but it makes the stakes higher for the boss, which for me is more fun than the game trying to hold my hand and coddle me.
My way going into this has been to experience it as much as possible as I thought "the Commandor" would do. Desperatly going up against new oponents unprepared and when the unavoidable defeat occurs get swooshed back in time armed with the knowledge of what's waiting in the future and being better prepared next round.
Of course also discovering that its not a complete repeat, the available heroes and items change... weird magical-time-matrix-whibbli-wobbly-thingies.
Anyhow, LTS is clearly not a fast paced, do a quick battle, kind of game. It has chosen another type of take on it and thats not likeable by all, I get that. When I need a more short gaming experience I go for other games. LTS takes care of a special itch.
