Disable weapons?
Just unlocked scepters and shotguns. Hate them. Hate the whole Momentum mechanic and would much rather pick heroes that don't have those weapons, or even better: how do I "block" certain weapons?

unless there's a mod for it, you can't block any weapons.

I'd say give them another chance, they can be very powerful if used right. Momentum attacks can one shot bosses.

Scepter is widely thought to be the best weapon in the game. I hated it at first too. Gun sucks, no doubt.

Specter damage got gutted in half, so you have to actually build around it to have it do damage, but its still decent.

Gun designed as to deal huge damage to single enemy, obvious it's damage too low to match high cost and weak AOE

Pistol and Scepter is very powerful as side arm. It is kinda bad if u spam attack with these weapon.
You move often anyway might as well 1 shot every few steps for better AP efficiency.

I've actually been getting some good results from the gun; it's got some nasty single target damage if you can lean into the Isolation bonus. Plus, if you have the... Sadist perk (the one that gives +1% Opportunity when you inflict a debuff), you can spike that damage bonus really, really high with Suppression (20% per turn under ideal conditions). That can pair very, very well with druid staff's basic attack.

I've been having success pairing up a rifle with a 1H ax using that sadist perk. The rifle's "Suppressing fire" action does two things, first it applies the debuffs for +1 opportunity as you said; then the slow is effective at stacking enemies up so the basic attack from the 1H ax hits 3 targets with almost every swing.

With the rifle applying 2 debuffs, if you add the contamination perk, it can propagate a lot of extra debuffs / +1% opportunities through a crowd.

Hand bow with 6 hits and 8 propagate is the best. LvL 5 hand bows can give +2 hit and +2 propagate. That is 48 possible targets for 2 AP and can be spread out across a large area. The 6 hits makes it decent vs single, isolated target. The 1 AP base ability does decent damage too with it's 6 hits and can give a unit 0 move if you cant kill. It does kind of suck early until you get some multi hit items.

Whoops, sorry; I should have written 'rifle' and not 'gun' for this. The pistol is okay too, though it's not my preferred. Makes a decent secondary weapon for a melee character, especially if they have the Flexibility perk. One-handed too, so you can toss a shield on with it for some block/armour.
