FInally succeeded with Lakeburg!!!
Just want to share my joy and relief of for the first time comepteing 12th night.

The run itself was far from anyting resembling perfect.

Discovered I picked some perks that didnt contribute to the play style I was actually using my heroes for. Placed some structures in a way that immediatly was evident it wasnt optimal and in stubborness I continued without destroying and taking the cost of rebuilding. And omens... not optimal choice but that I see as being part of the learning curve.

Lots of different details to keep track off and, well, the curve is a thing for me.

Worst of all... By my own hand a hero died. That became two heroes.

First was by using flamebolt (?? range skill that has multi-hit and propagates damage to surroundings) on an enemy that had one other hero next to. Figured my tanky hero would have no problem being shielded by his armor. Wich also proved to be correct. But... I forgot about what the effect of the perk Spikey Counter (the one that does damage to the attacker based on the defendes block). Turned out that perk retaliated on the hero that tused the attack that created the propagations that jumped onto the tank. 4 multi-hits in quick pace...and the hero's hp melted away and hit zero before that last propagation even was finished.
At first I didnt understand what had happened - was there some enemy I missed to see that the propagations jumped thorugh onto the casting hero? It was crowded there and the view was a bit diffciult due to a lamp post. But no.... It was the Spikey Counter I reliased later.

Ok. Lesson learned.

Had enough gold to get a new hero for next night but that was roguhly 200 gold that could have been put to other use if not for my own mistake.

Some nights later I placed another hero to close to the enemy so the multi-hit attack propagated right back onto the attacker. Totally unneccesary.
Ok. Lession learned. Another 300ish gold needed to get another new hero at sufficient high level.

12th Night.
Starting of with a good pace. Immensly enjoying a tank/dps with perks Vampyrism and Blood Magic with 4 bag slots - 1 with teleportation scroll and 3 with attack scrolls of different forms. Massively enjoying that huge damage output. 2 heroes with small crossbows that slowed enemies on two sides and using poision and catapults to thin the lines.

And... Didnt learn all variants of the 1st and 2nd lesson of the run. Had a melee hero (the one recruited after the death of my 2nd hero this run) standing next to a Boomer (the one that explodes and deals damage on death), killing it and the as a direct efffect having my own hero killed. In a situation where I easily could have finished it off from distance

So. 3 heroes dead by my own hand.

12th night now became a rush to get the final form of the Boss killed before town got swarmed and Magic Circle destroyed.

The turn the Boss's final stage was in place the several invaders had reached close enough to the circle to attack it... they attacked... 42 hp left on it.

Had enough remaining heroes to defeat the Boss in that round.

Sweet!! Success!! Relief!!

Just wanted to share this.

Looking forward to next town.

You will freaking enjoy this game until eldritch town. That one isn't even worth playing right now so i suggest redoing the previous town with higher apocalypse.
Good job btw.

Thank you.

It was fulfilling and rewarding.

Done Night 5 in Glenwald and enjoying that the layout as well has how the waves are incoming is different compared to Lakeburg.

Have so far kept to the decision of not trying any higher apocalypse until I hit a wall to high to climb or get tired of the standard game. Not close to that limit yet, though.

Best runs are either those that have a "nothing can stop me" flow or the ones where ♥♥♥♥ hits the fan and you are frantically hanging on a thread.

Happy to hear you sharing your experience, OP.

??? Might I inquire why it's not worth playing? I find it the most fun out of all 4 maps personally.

Even if the boss itself feels like a pushover, the early nights are exactly what I signed up for when buying this game, especially after the meta rework.
