Losing a battle feels like wasted time.
Be nice if you got something for losing a battle. Small little reward or something. I feel like i should just abandon a map if things go south now.

If you know the game mechanics that would be a good option. However, when I started, I kept on going because you learn the mechanics and the characters. Only once I forfeit, for I had the one arm debuff. All other runs I have kept on going and it is extremely fun when you manage to surpass the difficult situations.

But it is a personal option.

Additionnally if you DO win a very close battle, the game punish you naturally (since you lose precious defences and maybe even buildings) and then feels the need to punish you even harder by giving you less materials post game. It discourage you to keep trying if things get rough, which is too bad because surviving a close fight when the ennemy breached your base is the most fun of this game.

You may be surprised how far you can go when you settle for less. For example I had a run where I thought I was going to lose the next night because a handful of units breached my walls/damaged-destroyed a ton of it, but then I decided to just place baracades everywhere inside the base around my mage circle and in-between buildings. I ended up getting through a few more nights this way, including halfway through the final night. In other words, you can still earn a ton of essence or go to extremes at the cost of an efficient spending of gold to get an unlock like getting your unit to 12 move points (something someone might not want to do in their builds naturally).

yeah pushing through and getting a win even if the next round you lose is fine. cause you still get reward if you win with massive damage. just be nice to have a safety net reward so the player never feels like the time was wasted if you can't even pull off a close win.

Yeah I am pretty sure on the voting feedback board, getting partial rewards for a loss is up there, definitely should go vote for it if you haven’t

You should get as many essence as you earned, it only makes sense, this should apply to the very first run too, some youtuber survived to night 6 and he only got 500 essence, thats not fair, has to be changed.
