Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Hi everyone!

Ok, there are not many questions asked yet. Let's say this is a thread for Questions You Might Have (QYMH :)).

When is the game coming out?
The Slormancer is getting to Early Access on Steam on April 6, 2021. And we are aiming for a Full Launch around 2023.

On what platforms?
PC for sure, we are targeting Steam and GOG first. Then we will focus on consoles, starting by the Switch.

At what price?
Around $15 at Launch, and a lower price for Early Access.

Who are we?
We are a team of two working on our very first game: The Slormancer. We are Aurélien and Jeremy and we are Slormite Studios!

Ok, what the hell is a Slormancer?
An evil warlock from the past, it's in the description...
But also someone that can manipulate Slorm.

Ok, what's Slorm then?
Slorm is the foundation of life and resides in every living entity. The Slormancers are the only ones that can manipulate it which makes them pretty powerful.
This is also a word that sounds funny so we like it. :D

What about Multiplayer?
To be honest, this is our first game and we're learning along the way so multiplayer is something we're a bit afraid to try for now, mostly because we have no idea how to do it properly. We also know that a lot of players want multiplayer, so it's definitely more a "currently not planned" than a "hard no".

Hello there! Literally just found out about this game few minutes ago and already wish listed it! Anyway, I know it's super early but you guys have any kind of idea/plan for what endgame will be? As a looter arpg I had to ask.
Hyon D  [developer] Nov 15, 2019 @ 1:35pm
Hey, we have a lot of cool ideas concerning the end game, though most of them won't be playable at the release of the Early Access.

Anyway, most of the end game will be centered around the idea of build "collection", finding specific unique items and unique weapons, investing in your class trees, elemental tree, upgrading your gear, in order to maximize your build opportunities, synergies and strength.
Concerning the gameplay, as I said earlier, we have some pretty interesting ideas, but it is indeed way too early too talk about that right now.
But if you like customization and build diversity, there will be plenty of fun things to loot, unlock and discover, that's for sure.

Any plans for Linux support?
We are still not sure, it depends on how difficult it's going to be.
This is something we'll look into when the game is closer to completion.

Are there any games that influenced you guys? (Dungeon Souls?) -> Hands down will buy this game (i hope early access is soon), love the art and don't be pressured into multiplayer, this game will do great with continued updates/classes~ i love these types of games
Hyon D  [developer] Jun 28, 2020 @ 10:24am
We have always loved ARPGs such as Diablo, Poe and Grim dawn, but Dungeon Souls and Enter the Gungeon were the games that inspired us to make something close to that gameplay experience but with a persistant progression system like in the ARPGs.

you know, early access or demo games don't show up or display as something good!

till it has more action or skills element that imphasis the gameplay!! and make it look good!

The only reason that people will like this game is the emphasis that it has on skill and how in dept it has to attacking!! and fun animations and effects!

The only thing that can counter it is, good bosses that has damage and good health or effects that hinder the player and tricky attacks!
That slows the player!

Or make the screen black, but it shows the line of sight in some ways, like a cone shape (in a straight line)!

Or to make a circular motions that you can see at, but only around the boss and make the boss in the dark area!
To make it known where the boss is- actually in- One of the dark areas and guess where he is at, cause the (circular / line of sight) goes around the boss and you need to guess where he is attacking!

I've never seen that kind of line of sight for the Boss Battles or fake bullets incoming!

I've played games since i was 7 years old and i'm 26 now just saying i've seen some really good games at my time! and i'm always playing games till this day and don't want to quit it!

A game that used darkness to make it harder to see enemies was Phantasy Star Online 1 the first game on Dreamcast that i played at age of 7 and at the Robotic Zone it has that darkness effects to make Bosses or Enemies harder or at the neon enemies at the volcanic area with neon scythes enemies, that you can only see if you activate a switch!

Or things like that, or check (Soda Girls) on steam an underrated game or check the scythes glowing of an enemy in the volcano area in PSO on dreamcast!

Just saying, i also want this game's bosses to be good!

All Hopes Are In Your Hands!!!

God Speed!!!

Is this launching in Early Access first still or is the planned release referring to the regular launch? I'd love to get my hands on this game ASAP.
Hyon D  [developer] Aug 22, 2020 @ 1:20pm
The planned release is indeed for an Early Access first (aiming for 2020).
There is still a lot of content (especially end game) that we want to add in the future that won't be ready this year :)

Please consider adding native Linux support. This game looks great and I would love to support it! :)
