Oh man you should have tried it on the test server, it was a real treat! Not only is there an addition of a clan, but the mechanic that came with them is pretty cool and complex. Theres another end boss now, and several other things that can impact the game pretty heavily.
While I know there have been a lot of devs lately who have released half finished games and then added paid DLC that really wasn't worth it, but was kinda required to make the game "whole". Personally, I do not think this is that at all. It's worth the money if you really really like Monster Train. And I'll be honest, after having played the DLC on the test server, I didn't even want to go back and play the normal version haha, it was so good!
You might want to consider
to offer pre-purchase
at a small discount: 9.99.
Those who are faithful
and buy before release
get rewarded, you got money
now.
Would love a Nintendo Switch version and would definitely double-dip! Cross-platform progress would be a bonus, but I think it's probably fairly involved.
I've watched NL play the beta and I don't know, I liked what I saw, but that's a lot of money (relatively speaking, of course) for a new clan, a new boss and a moderate amount of little changes. 57% of a base game's price is too much for any DLC imo. They should drop it down to $9.99.
(Motion Twin's approach is far more realistic when it comes to pricing)
Great title and looking forward to seeing what was able to be added to it further.
BUT ... there is only one Monster Train out there atm and if i calculate the free updates into it (yes we already received free content guys!) ... i think its worth "investing" in the Devs with that purchase and looking forward to future content :3
