Blight - Deadweight

Why do I always have Blight Deadweight in my deck on every new run? It wasn't always there, wondering what I did to screw myself :/

If you're climbing cov levels they add them to your deck at the start of each run.

Oh, I didn't think I had increased my covenant rank but I guess I must have. Thanks for the info!

yep, you get one starting at cov 2, and another later. Interestingly, there are a couple ways to turn them to your advantage later. A cavern event that gives an artifact with +1 ember generation per 2 blights in the deck, and another cavern event with +2 unit attack per blight in the deck.

AFAIK, there is only one way to remove them, and it isn't permanent. There's a Melting card that "consumes cards in hand" and makes a draff....it seems to be the only card that makes OTHER, non-spell cards get consumed, and so its possible to use that melting card to remove your deadweights from your deck for the rest of the battle. No way to completely remove them.

Ah cool. Yes I had seen that one cavern event, but declined because I didn't really know what I would be getting in to lol. 17 hours in, still definitely learning the game but I love it :-)
