Say a gorger monster gains Damage shield once when eating a unit. You have a morsel unit. At the end of combat, if the morsel survived, it gets eaten by the gorger. It gains the points from the eaten morsel, and the gorge ability triggers twice, so instead of 1 damage shield you end up with 2.
based on your description im excited to try this out - im imagining this would work well with commemorative spike (summon morsel miner +5 attack and +5 health) and/or morselmaker with fossilized fangs - it doubles the effect!
Note that the Fossilized Fangs only double gorge effects, they don't double any buffs from the morsel itself. It's still a good artefact.
