Inferno Nexus Spike
I put Inferno and Ancient Resonance into a Nexus Spike with the intent to just have another Inferno in the deck. It turned out that the damage of Inferno did not transcribe into the spike. Any logic to this that I'm missing?

Feel free to post any Nexus Spike oddities you know about

Edit: Another oddity. When played on a 3-echoed floor, the damage turned out to be 15 TWICE, for a total of 30. When viewed in the consume pile, the displayed damage was 20. (since it consumed, another echo was gained.) I don't remember the displayed damage before.
...then I lost to the divinity, and it was close enough that this might have ended up mattering. : /

Just for the sake of argument - did you actually use it? I'm wondering if the damage you see there on the card is just because the damage from Ancient Resonance is variable. The way the card works is to just play the two fused cards, so I would guess it actually does play Inferno and does the damage?

Yeah, I played it earlier in the fight when it was safe, which was when I noticed. True to the nature of Inferno, it does affect my own side as well.

To be fair, this is the wrong place to ask about detailed game mechanics.
Discord is probably better. You'd want someone like Rising Dusk or one of the modders to weigh in. If you want to DIY, use a program like ILSpy to take a look at how merged cards function.

Weird interaction, looks like maybe Ancient Resonance stoped it from targeting your own side? (And of course Nexus Spike never hits bosses).
