Unlocked champion?

I just completed the next covenant level or clan upgrade level (not sure which, the popup is gone after "hell yeah!") and was told I can now play with two new champions. In my logbook, it looks like I can see their portrait in the clan overview or whatever the first tab summary is called. Yet when I look at the second tab, cards, and filter "champion", I can only see the three I've had before. When I start a new run, I can also not select those new ones I apparently unlocked. What am I not understanding? Thanks

Assuming you hit rank 5 with the clan and unlocked the Shardtail Queen and Wyldenten exiled champions. When you're at the Clan selection screen, under the Primary clan section, to left of the bar that shows your clan level, there should be two buttons. Click to toggle between the regular and exile champ. If you do not have access to the exile champion, the toggle button will have a locked icon and the tooltip will tell you what you have to do to unlock them.

Ah ok I see that little tab button now. (It's the Queen and the Martyr.) I still cannot see them in the Card tab in the "Logbook", but maybe because I have to complete a game with them first?

That sounds about right. You also have to actually see the upgrades in the forge to fill out the champion part of the logbook. You don't have to actually take the upgrade, just see it in the Dark Forge.

Ah OK I see it now. Thank you. Taking the "martyr" just to see what it does. I think the standard hero suits my playstyle better but we'll see
