Divine often has waves with 6+ units, and also is always a target itself. So 7x (targets) 2x (multistrike) 5x (attack per strike) makes the sweeper's attack go up by 70 each wave, while also hitting them twice with its ever increasing damage.
Another thing but not really a unit/essence combo, is little fade starting with the permanent attack/spikes scaling path (+ 1x the quick/endless path upgrade) and the awoken card that exchanges attack and HP. It ended up having around 500 hp and around 250 spikes (while also being endless) against the divinity, pretty much solo-winning the fight. May need to add in a spike channeler or artifact for x2 spike damage if it isn't enough damage on its own.

Most broken combos:
Apex Imp + Bogwurm cocoon infusion. Endless Welder helper + imp scholar infusion. -3 cost Reinforce.
Shattered Shell + Morsel-Made infusion. Lots of morsel generation.
Royalty shardtail queen. Welder helper + imp scholar infusion. -4 cost onehorn's tome. Dupe all the holdover Imp-portant work you can find.
(any way to replay a lot of onehorn's tomes or furnace taps, see also wurmkin/umbra combos).
Legion of Wax + entombed explosive. (especially with waxer snuffer).
Shadoweater + Sunderstone. Bunch of morsel generation. In fact all on strike effects work with the shadoweater gorge aoe, this one will just absolutely wreck house though. Shadoweater + Kinhost Vessel also deserves a mention, absolutely devastating aoe, tons of reap(if the shadoweater eats 6 morsels, with 6 enemy targets, they all get 36 reap, if there's 6 echo shards on the floor that's 216 damage each, also another 60 from the gorge effect, and you can double both these numbers with the double gorge artifact).
Shadoweater + Morsel-Made infusion. Place morselmaster infused with morselmaster behind it. You're just going to kill everything by eating morsels, and then hit like a truck.
Any sweeper/trampler/high multistriker + overgorger infusion, or bounty stalker infusion. Also has to be mentioned: Any egg with endless and overgorger infusion.
The scary fact that you can combine the Shadoweater with Sunderstone with either of the infusion ones above... Sunderstone+Morsel-made combo will probably first turn kill last divinity, with a few intrinsic packed morsels.
Oh and just thought of the mother of all inspire abuse combos:
Endless Transcendim + Imp Scholar infusion. Holdover Return Soul. (+ any inspire unit, reap chief anyone?)
- Rail Beater. The update gave him Melee weakness on strike instead of that useless push, which means double dmg after first hit.
Slap multistrike stone and horned warrior essense on him. The initial 30 armour means he will hold out long enough for you to apply armor.
- Brawler prince. Same as above, except he does not cause melee weakness.
- Wickless Baron/Big Sludge. You will want to kill the imps every turn and these units scale with that.
- Any sweep/multistrike unit. Even Train Steward will work if you are desperate.
Used Spinechief with all 3 ranks of +Attack/Charge, plus three copies of a Kinhost Vessel with an infused Edge Prior, with a Largestone, Multi Attack, and Strike: Melee Weakness 1.
Those babies hatch into a 45x3/50 that heals the entire row by 5 every turn, and applies both Melee Weakness 1 and Reap 1 on each hit -- and with the Champion down and full charge that mean's they're really 240x3 / 50 bruisers -- and that's without taking into account running Awoken for delicious attack pumping spells and everything else that faction brings to the table, or the possibility of overflow charges.
Mind you, without the Spellchained Accelerated Incubation to shave off the Whopping 8 Shell, wouldn't have worked quite as well, but even without hatching a 15x2/41 isn't anything to scoff at. Similarly, couldn't make Death Valley there without the artifact that gave me +3 size on a random floor, but still.
10 free armor every turn + 20 extra damage on Apex Imp.
If you combine this with any kind of Rage or Armor artifact you can breeze through every fight. I even beat Seraph the Chaste with this combo even if he purges half of the rage stacks. Might nor work against the last divinity but I haven't tested it against that.
You get a stealth 1, multistrike 1, burnout 1, endless unit that gets +8 attack every time it dies.
If you get it after the very first battle, its not hard to get to divinity with over 500 damage per hit (twice). Dupe to your heart's content. Add another multistrike to make it even stupider.
That was my favorite run so far. The expansion added so many possibilities, though.
