Any reason not to take a divine artifact? [possibly dlc event spoiler]
Heya.

I bet some of you already saw the non-cavern event that randomly seems to show up sometimes at the start of a ring (ring = rings of hell, each map the train passes through).

It asks you whether you want to take a divine artifact or to leave.
A divine artifact is a choice of 3 normal artifacts, but enhanced to give double its effect - though it only lasts for one fight and then is removed again.

Now I wonder why before choosing an artifact, there is also the option to leave instead of taking an artifact. I think I picked it a few times out of curiosity, but don't think anything ever came as a follow-up to that.

Maybe I'm thinking too much into this, but seems weird that it asks you if you want to just leave it when getting a free artifact is purely positive with no downside. Why would anyone pick leave if there is no downside to take a (temporary) artifact? Also you can still choose to pick an artifact and then instead take the 25 gold.

So .. that 'leave' option really baffles me cause I can't understand the reason for it being there, maybe just for flavor? Or has anyone experienced any kind of follow-up after choosing 'leave' there?

I think it's unlickely all 3 artifacts would be bad. But there are situations where a specific artifact hurts your specific deck, and you wouldn't want to pick it up. Like artifacts that kill units, are often bad in decks that scale on slay.

I'd assume it's a general design choice to always give the player a choice to decline. May as well just always give the player the choice to turn down an event, rather than deciding on each one.

Yeah, but .. if you see only relics you don't want, you can still just pick the 'skip' option for 25 gold. And still get something out of it.

The 'Leave' option means you don't even look at the relics and even decline the 25 gold. There is really 0 reason to choose that. Which is why I find it weird that the option even is there.

It wouldn't have been surprising if there was some hidden follow-up for not taking the temporary power up (or 25 gold), since Monster Tain does seem to do something similar in other places where taking a bad choice can lead something good later on. But that doesn't seem to be the case there.

Thus I really wonder what the thought behind adding that 'Leave' option was, if there was any.

May be a few years late to the discussion, but maybe it's for people who like to speedrun? Gotta save those two seconds looking at the relic choices.
