The main problem is that Direchannel is meh, and Titanchannel is garbage.
I concur.
but after that is steamroll time
also it's one unit that hits once... it's just bad is what it is.
Also titanchannel is quite bad, it should stack with shards after the phase is gone
Titanchannel gets Multistrike when it gets double the Shard stack threshold
Direchannel always deals 3 damage per shard, but at level II it does 2 times and then at level III it does 4 times, so it can hit more than one enemy.
Coldchannel:
level I +20 instead of +10 HP
level II: same (+45 HP)
level III: +95 instead of +65 HP, but only one frostbite stack per shard
I felt like sharing my one solgard experience in this thread. I'm still fairly new with 61hours in game. my choices at the start were titanchannel or direchannel. I had already read this thread when I tried it and picked umbra support instead of awoken anyway. those two factors made me think my run was doomed at the start, but I still tried it. titanchannel turned out to be important for the run because it gave solgard the attack to use lifestealing from immortal trade. starting random cards were x2 immortal trade, x2 offering token, and a card that apply frostbite to all enemies. even after I got 5 more offering tokens, it was hard to un-phase solgard turn 1. luckily solgard's second upgrade was coldchannel, so I only had to worry about phased4 the whole run. I made a mis-play on seraph, one turn the last card in my hand was an offering token. I played it, and it auto discarded a crypt builder and that killed the last enemy infront of solgard. that was bad because solgard didn't get to heal from lifesteal and died next wave since that wave was supported by impatient seraph. a siren of the sea with multistrike was pretty beefy by then and I was still able to recover and stack enough lifestealing on her even with her wasting two stacks of lifesteal per attack round. narrow victory on cov 8. coldchannel was very important.
when you say 95hp instead of 65hp, does that mean coldchannel 3 only has 65hp? because if you go cold 2 titan 1 split you get 90 hp and 45 attack. all you guys saying titan is garbage but it actually does pretty much give the option of stats similar to what you're asking for if you do that mix and you only have to sacrifice the first turn.
that said getting to 10 for the second level of titan channel does look like garbage to me on paper. knee jerk reaction time without trying it yet. maybe getting to shard 8 would be a realistic goal to reach for a 0cost spell heavy deck on turn 2... might tempt me to try for more stats by going titan2 cold1 if shard 8 was the cutoff for titan 2.
I shudder to guess how much shard you have to get for titan3.
