Looking for advice on Primordium
in particular looking for the most useful path to take, as well the secondary clan.
I am struggling to keep it alive early on, the front liners dying too fast, then 1shotting it.

A couple strategies you can run. If you take one level in superfood, and the rest in more buffet charges, it can excel with awoken, feeding spikes, stats and regen to your tank.

You can also go pure Aggresive Edible and Melting Remnant, if you get Primordium killed before its last charge is eaten you can reform it, and get some massive stats going into your choice of frontline.

Or just keep getting it killed and reformed over and over and have someone eat it for the last wave

Ive noticed it glows when its on its last charge, is there something special about it? I know stats increases increases with every reform.

I haven't noticed anything special about it, maybe it glows to warn the player? Even if you are not playing with MR support it can be pretty significant if one of your backline units just dies next turn. Or you might have a frozen Retch and you want to save it for Primie.

Ah, I misunderstood what was said.

Always pick the top floor...or middle floor if there is a boss on the top floor that attacks. Then your front unit will get a chance to eat at least once before facing enemies. You will loose some points, but you will have a better chance of winning.

Do an alliance with the Awoken and get their buffs on primordium...I really like steel enhancer and the starter card that gives + attack plus 1 card draw(buffs and gets the deck flowing). Plus it is awesome to get a unit with sweep, quick, and multistrike eating off him. I think the Awoken are the only one that can have that on multiple units so you are less dependent on a lucky recruitment.

Probably the most important is that Retch will return Primordium to your hand or deck after it is eaten...with any stat buffs still in place. Then you have your main frontliner start eating him again as you buff it even more.

Some good words here. Thank you.

Emberdrain builds are super consistent. Void binding and perils of production are common and uncommon so will be offered with relative consistency. Either of these on holdover (preferably both) can be enough to win cov 25 usually if you have either crucible or other high quality unit frontlining. Lifesteal emberdrain card works too just not as well as it is at odds with multistrike. On that note, if you do happen to find furnace tap - GG you’ve won. Simply stick it on primordium and laugh as your front liner stacks multistrike after multistrike while also getting damage shield and rage stacks. Also there are plenty of other damage shield cards so if you don’t find void binding don’t sweat it - any damage shield source will do the more the merrier. I plan on doing a full guide on this particular strategy soon I’ll ping you once it’s out if you want.

Id definitely love that, primordium is not an easy hero to learn.

Definitely having a much better time with primordium now.
Perils of Production as a starter card for sure, as well NOT Seraph the Chast!

Hrm, ive come to wonder what the point is of Superfood transfering status effects from Primordium? Since you could just as well drop them on your big hitter.
I know Superfood adds shields later on, but that you could easilly duplicate with enough morsels.

That's super strong actually. Try getting Furnace Tap and give it to primordium and he will give additional multistrike to the creature you're building every turn.

Also Spikes, more spikes every turn.

Just remember, if you're using Retch or Retch + Feast, that in the latter covenants the top floor daze creatures that you summon, and Primordium will unfortunately give a lot of daze this way. Prefer the middle floor in that case.

I just finished a cov18 run, killing Seraph waaaay early with a tank that had 396 dmg and 24 multistrike. That's the point.

Still trying to finish cov 18 myself, not suceeded yet, finding it rather hard. So you say to focus on a tank, One of the awoken with with sweep? Which Seraph do you mainly use? And are you fishing for Perils at the beginning?

It was the (seemingly very common) Umbra unit with the Gorge: Damage Shield, Healthstone and Frenzystone. I was lucky enough to start with Furnace Tap, and I grabbed Perils of Production as soon as it popped up. The other clan was, I think Stygian but I didn't even use them... most of the run was dedicated to just purging as many cards as possible. 2nd upgrade for Primordium was Buffet 5 (then 8). Seraph was ... the temperant? The Sap one, didn't really matter though. I think only the Diligent would have given this deck any issues, but I also grabbed the artifact that made consume cards have 50% chance to be discarded instead, so maybe not since I also had a good number of 0 cost consume cards anyway and a small deck so I'd have one available most of the time.

I picked up a Morsel Maker and Morsel Master and stuck them on the top floor with the tank to help generate damage shields. So that allowed me to dispose of any other morsel generating cards in the deck. I had three of those Consumable +1 pip cards which I used on the top row, but I'm not sure those were actually needed... honestly this was such massive overkill from the beginning. Just kind of annoying on occasion when I didn't get my tank out right away before Primordium got buffet 5. In the future I would probably just stick with one tank unit + Primordium to ensure they both get out on turn 1.
