LOL
what's even funnier is that you think this is a BAD thing. you know all those train stewards cluttering up your deck? this is a great way to get rid of one of them and have it do good damage on its way out.
same with low value spells. it's a nice way to simply get them out of your deck while still having them have some value.
this event is a GOOD thing, not a bad one.
At least now you understand what the keyword "purge" means. Unfortunately, you had to learn it the hard way.
Edit:
Well, seems like I'm too slow when typing. :P
As the others have said, this is really just on you for not reading what "Purge" means. You're supposed to put this modifier on your weakest card, not your strongest.
The artifact turns purge into consume, which has no real effect on units.
Cool. Haven’t seen that one.
It's rare, there's an achievement for finding it.
You need to get the event that lets you pick up one of three unique Purge cards, I think they're all relics of a past battle flavor-wise, and then not actually use the cards for something like two battles. You'll then find another event that allows you to repeatedly use them and other purge spells.
Basically any spell that only deals "1-6" against the front enemy only is garbage and anything that deals only 1-2 damage to "any" enemy with a cost is garbage.
Stewards are garbage even with their artifact of multi-strike.
I just did this, Purge was not converted damn it!
That said I've had hope for peace, and turned purge spells into non-consume spells, it's neat. Great with any of the armageddon spells(the event that leads to hope for peace). It was less great when I got it during the DLC open beta weekend after putting twinned spell on a razorsharp edge, with repeater echowright, so I kept getting extra-expensive razorsharp edges being returned by the repeater ability.
Instead of googling purge, searching to see why its useul or why peoppe like it or even posting asking why its useful. Why did you instead decide the mechanic is ♥♥♥♥ and pointless and should be completly changed to suit what you thought it was?
OP, I'm not gonna dogpile on you because goodness knows I've had my own ragequit moments with various games and a need to vent it. But if I may offer constructive criticism -- your post is more than a touch incoherent and it comes off as rather rude. Maybe you don't think that matters or that being nice is for (expletives)?
But I have over the years convinced devs to completely change their game by being polite/respectful. Pissed-off venting feels good but it doesn't get results. Are you more likely to listen to someone making demands of you, reasonable ones or not? Be honest.
As to what actually happened in your game -- Monster Train is a game all about making mistakes and exploring the mechanics and the game is pretty good at making them transparent. I believe if you moused over "purge" it would tell you what it does. Something to keep in mind with any given deck building card game is that anything that *seems* useless at a glance might not be. It could be a catalyst in a truly broken synergy or it might reveal its true power under special circumstances.
I for one still have not figured out why ANYONE would ever want the Volatile Gauge artifact, but I'm not ready to call it garbage until I talk to more people who favor different builds than I do. (I'm a diehard Remnant player for instance)
