Building new stadium problem
Hello,
need your help.
So my club won cro 2nd division and I asked my board to build a new stadium. They approved it and next day I got information that a brand new modern stadium will be built. The CAPACITY will be 4500 all seater !!!!!!!!! WTF?
It will be built in 2 years and will cost 20 mil.!!!
Here is my problem why such an expensive small capacity stadium?
Second it imediatley put me in Fair Play liability with deficit od 20 mil

Is it my bad that i wanted new stadium in may while still in second div or just a bug ???

Any similar experiences? WIll i be able to expand it drastically or will i need to build new stadium in future as i become more influential in europe???

idk if it was ever changed but i own fm17 and you CAN'T build a new stadium after a new one has been built until 20 years have passed (no matter even if you used all the upgrade capacity and are still getting sellouts). you prematurely ejaculated brah and now your board will cut back your transfer budget and the % for transfers you get to keep will probably be nerfed to like 20% or worse.

you best get on top of the debt managment, ask the board to cut finances in area you don't care about and proactively look to sell your best players after you've lined up loaners from top flights as replacements else the board will intervene if a huge transfer comes in (forcing you to accept and ruining your season).

If you have a save game just prior to them agreeing to start the development please upload it to us and let us know the file name, that way we can investigate why this happened. Details on how to upload here - https://community.sigames.com/forum/724-all-other-gameplay/

And how to upload a save game can be found here - https://community.sigames.com/faq/football-manager-2020/238_how-to/241_pc/how-to-upload-files-for-support-r847/

Looking at the average attendances of Croatian clubs, 4.5k isn't that small and could be expanded. It's difficult to know how much of a problem it is without knowing the club - depending on where it's based in the country there may not be that much of a population of people willing to attend the games (or there are bigger clubs in the local vicinity who hoover up the fans).

Lots of thought goes into why the game does it what it does, so if you can help us with the save or more info we'll see what we can figure out. Thanks.

Neil I continued to play so i dont have save or rolling autosave anymore. Avg attendance od 4,5k in Croatia would be great especially for Jadran Porec since Porec has around 14 -18 k population. Nevertheless it is pointless to make 20 mil euro 4,5 k stadium when you think about playing in CL where 30 k would not be enough. I pressume that whole Istria region with 200 k inhabitants would gravitate towards most successful club in the region for so reputable competition. So atleast 15k stadium would be necessary.

Thanks for the info, I think the reality is the club ownership and knowing the history of Jadren Porec, they aren't expecting you to be able to become a Champions league club. The reality would suggest that teams like Zagreb and to a lesser extent Rijeka and Hadjuk to dominate the CL qualifications. Even if you do qualify it's a big ask to make it through the qualification stages.

The stadium will allow better all-round facilities and there will be potential to expand in the future if required. I just think the board has made a common sense decision. The price tag is high, they've built a proper stadium for a team who have largely been playing at a provincial level. For them to build anything larger than what you have could essentially become a white elephant and be largely empty more often than not.

I have a similar problem on my save, now in the season 2033/34, managing Blackpool, playing at home at Bloomfield Road. Early in the save, I was able to expand my stadium to a new total of 20 000 seats. Since then, I have won the Premier League, Champions League, and have had steadily great results each season. Blackpool's reputation is 5 star, and is currently ranked #2 worldwide.

Despite all this, I can't even ask my board for a new stadium. Bloomfield Road was built in 1899. The club's income on matchdays are consistenly ranked on the bottom half of all Premier League clubs, and it's really hindering the club from becoming an actual powerhouse with so much revenue missing. Is this a bug or is there a good reason?

Difficult to know without being able to see your save game. If you upload it as instructed in the following link and let us know the file name we can check it out - https://community.sigames.com/faq/football-manager-2020/238_how-to/241_pc/how-to-upload-files-for-support-r847/

Thanks.

Thank you Neil! I'm not sure how to report it, I have uploaded the file. Can I just share the name here?

If your team is based in a town with only 20,000 people then 4.5k is the largest stadium you are ever going to need. Sad but true. Your club's growth is limited by it's location and so a Bernabau size stadium will always be out of the question..

Have you had a chance to look at this? Since the upload the club is in better financial shape, but still no possibility to ask for a new stadium.

It's because the stadium was rebuilt in 2012 - a stadium can only be rebuilt/replaced once every 25 years so you'd have to wait until 2037. Understand this isn't ideal especially given the stature of your club, but given the cost of just replacing the stadium as a 20,000 seater would be £25.5m and your bank balance being significantly lower than that, at least it gives you some time to save!

You don't need to care or worry about the stadium size.. The chairman will build one when he think the club wants one. I had "build a new stadium" as a line in Club Vision, I never asked about it and the club is building a stadium. This is my first season at Hearts (year 2025)

The graph on the Finances page is bugged a bit, but at least I didnt have to get any form of loan. https://i.imgur.com/WL0hPW0.png
