Time Wasting

What is the point of time wasting when my players still keep attacking and crossing the ball into the box? This resulted in many last minute counter attack goal against me every single time.

Time wasting is best used when you're playing a defensive structure - what were your tactics when this occurred?

I had an uninjured bloke rolling around on the floor for ages, and a lot of passing back to goalie using this technique. But yeah you need to have other tactics set accordingly as well like short kicks, more short passes, team set to defend, and defensive mentality for retaining possession etc

I will switch to Very Defensive, Team Instructions: much lower tempo, time wasting always, dribble less and be more disciplined. It is the same for corner kicks too. Instead of passing it short and playing at the corner, they will always cross the ball into the box. Do I really need to be nit picking and adjust everything individually from the tactics menu? Shouldn't it be common sense instead? The only time when time wasting works is from throw ins. It takes them forever to throw the ball in.

If you play on highlights they might have wasted time before the action begins. like it skips the time the goal keeper uses wasting time before it shows you that he does take the goal kick. But I don't know.

Yes they will only waste time for goal kicks and throw ins. Aside from that, they will still keep playing as per normal and keep crossing the ball into the box.

I think that is what the slider is ajusting. not how they play but if they should waste time on set peaces. You could use shorter passing, low tempo and perhaps "work ball into box" as sometimes my team uses a lot of time passing around whenever I clicked the green suggestion to "work ball into box". Its almost like attack in handball sometimes. passing around looking for a opening.
