is this FM20 worth it or not ?
Hello guys

So i have only FM18 (yes i know but my fav is still FAPLFM 02 and not a big fan of FM just addict to it) and i was wondering is this version worth or not ?

i read those titles where people complain about bugs, not launch, it's not new SI games isn't exempted of flaws they won't fix bugs just release 3 updates and gives up by saying it's your config.

thanks in advance

It's all subjective of course, but I'd definitely recommend giving it a try - or at least the demo - especially if you're 2 versions back. A lot of changes have went in since then, so plenty to keep things fresh!

I would say it depends on what league you would like to play. If you play english PL and are just going to stick with that, then FM20 might aswell do the job for you, and the demo give you a fairly description of how good the game is.

However, if you like same as me. Start with smaller clubs and try to build them to a CL force, then FM20 fails in every aspect. The transfers in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Ukraine, etc are so off what is realistic that its stupid. They want 10 times the money for players than the AI is paying, and its consistent, and its from season 1.

The board will sell your players for a fraction of the sum you gave for them, "cause the offer is to good to refuse". Ive had that several time and thats the reason all my friends have stopped playing except a couple of seasons in the PL now and then.

FM18 is a better game in all aspects, but as said, thats just my opinion based on the teams I played. I tried a Chelsae save last week and the experience was better, but boring as winning the PL first season and buing Fatu, and the usuall wonderkid

FM20 really give you the feeling of playing with different rule set than the AI

One of the things I dislike is that the last patch is always around februari/march. There's a big bug were you've double pressing in the wrong positions or area. I did read that SI is not going to patch it this version, but next version. And that patching-policy somehow breaks me. Why not just patch it this version, so it gets solved. It's like creating a Ford Forcus with a deadly airbag-error. Don't solve it, but rather bring out a Ford Focus 2. While the previous one is still deadly. This is why I want the yearnumbers to go and just have one base Football Manager that gets updated, patched and maintained. Just at some subsribtion for 3 euro per month or so (which can be canceled every month), so it's 36 euro per year. Not too shabby.

Yeah, and its also a bug now so I can register players all year around, outside the transfer windows.

There is no reason apart from financial to release a game every year, the differences are minimal. And as it has been, the new features are just broken, or break something else in game. To have new features and stuff in the game are great, but then they should enhance the gameplay. Now they dont

If you think about it, the game was released in November with a 2 week beta. That really lasted until February, before that it was to many issues with 1 vs 1, balls through the middle etc. And now they wont patch anymore, or at least they wont do because a new game is coming out. The winner here are not the consumers, thats for sure

OMG we finally agree. Consumers were never the winner in this. I have said from day 1 we are just a number. Miles is pushing the numbers this year...so many ppl online playing FM, very little discounts. It is May and your asking if you should buy this version?! Just wait 5 months then do not buy for 2 years.

He is pushing alot of numbers, also player stats ingame (injurys, cards, penaltys etc) that i just can not make myself belive after 500 hours ingame, but who knows :).
I think we would agree on alot of things. And there is alot of games, that shows alot more consumer friendly methods, even free to play ones like Path of Exile, that has 5 times the player base as FM. Well you even have games that you pay for ones, and it do get updated years after release. So we agree, the FM consumers are for sure at the bottom :)

But we of course both know it wont be a sub based cause of the licenses

And SI allmost never have discount, thats the point exactly. Its a niche game for a "small" amount of PC gamers (read fotball fans). Regular PC gamers, that plays strategy games would have asked alot more questions about how "things are done".

IMO The game getting a little more realistic every year, 2020 is the best version i have played , But you have to put in more work to get results. Unless of course you just choose a massive club with loads of money. If your a click and watch highlights and then just skip all the way to the next game you will miss so much detail. Its well worth the money every year, No other game has lasted so long and holds your interest.

Of course it worths. Just pay attention if you wanna buy it now if in a few months a new edition will be released. Pay the least price possible.
Marius May 8, 2020 @ 6:53am
Ofcourse you may buy FM2020, but what always baffeles me, that if you have a previous version and there's some annoying bug innit that isn't solved. It's patched in the next version. You can play FM2020 for 2 years until FM2022 or so, but it will always have the double pressing-bug and other bugs because SI refuse to solve bugs after March. That's something you gonna live with, even it's a huge bug. Ahh well. Will look forward to FM2021, but it will probably be my last FM ever.

I agree that is a pitiful response to the games fans by the developer. All the money they must be making on this game year after year as well for small incremental changes?

I bought this game for (almost) full price and that attitude disgusts me. My last FM was 2015 and I won't ever be buying another FM after this one, well not for another five years at least!

have to saya s well my last version was FM2015 and its not very apparent what has actually changed between then and now, and that was six whole years ago. So definitely you won't see anything much that is new between 2018 and now.

From what i read it's not worth it to buy it if bugs aren't fixed which i know because SI doesn't know how to fix their game. I wish Sega understand that and look for developers who are passionate by football...

Also hopefully i get FM18 with a 75% from Humble Bundle when FM19 was announced.

But thanks to you to sacrifice for people who are reticent to play a new version every year, FM has became FIFA with a touch a small improvement
Marius May 9, 2020 @ 12:59pm
I played the demo and I love the new features, tho. But I hate the patching-policy after March, because there's none. Any leftover (big) bugs will not be solved. Only in the new version. They need to solve it whole year round. Then add new features and all that in a new version. I am fine with that. Or just like I described earlier: Just one base FM; no more dates. Similar to Train Simulator. It's one game, updated every (half) year. *Minus the DLC, ofcourse. Haha*
