Just the fact we will have good characters has me pumped. I have always wanted them to go back in time in the Gears universe, so E Day is a great choice.

Definitely surprised they are going in this direction, but I'm definitely not complaining. What I don't like is how long overdue something like this was, and it didn't even give a projected release year. So this whole time they were just working on a short hype trailer? Where's the Gears collection PC ports that people keep asking for? I'm not trying to be overly negative, but feel these are valid thoughts and questions.

Hard to say, but overall it seems consistent that Gears 4 & 5 were not very well liked. Sure they are fun, but not like the original. The story is just not good and its mainly because of the characters. Judgement, also did not seem to do well. I never finished Judgement. It just got boring. I'll probably go back to it now that E Day has been announced.

I think after 5 they realized they had to do something to recover. What better way than to return the best characters. They also needed time to develop a great Gears of War game again. Only time will tell, but I have a pretty good feeling about this one.

If this is a sign they're remastering/rebooting/finally releasing the series then I'd certainly pick it up. Refuse to start a franchise half-way through.

E Day would be a fine start due to it being before all the other games. Honestly 4&5 are so far out there it wouldn't matter either, but I know where you are coming from.

Also hyped, though for less serious reasons. It's just been fun for me from 1-5 with Judgement Day somewhere in between to get on, switch brain off, and go ham with absurd weaponry like burrowing bazookas and machine guns with comically large melee attachments to watch the chaos unfold for a few hours, you know?

It's that therapeutic feeling of not needing to give a ♥♥♥♥ about story content or political correctness for a few minutes that kept me coming back once the campaign was over and the story had been told. There's something to be said for the sheer absurdity of things like using an ORBITAL LASER CANNON to microwave an enemy outdoors that just kinda works for me. Don't get me wrong though the story is usually pretty decent too, but I'm not overly picky about the details. I'll laugh at stuff like the joke about how the armor "feels kinda like I'm wearing a door" just as easily as get the feels about gears 3 and Dom, or more recently Gears 5 and the final sacrifice.

Speaking of, I still joke we need a retcon on that. I nailed that little ♥♥♥♥ between the eyes without a second thought on my first playthrough only to watch a forced miss in a cutscene. Literal reaction was; "ugh, FINE, I'll pick one!" lol.

I just hope it's like the old Gears 1 and 2, the real feel of a war of humanity! It needs to be dark, blood-red and instance. A traditional survival mode with 10 players vs Locust hordes and building defenses. We need to feel that WAR.

Infinite wave with boss, brumak, drone etc etc We want chaos! We want it everywhere, like in the old trailers or in Gears 2! 💀

We don't want any more futuristic stuff !
We want to get back to the legends who made this game.

I have not had a game trailer put me on the edge of my seat for many years. I was actually worried for a moment that Fenix was about to be killed off. So glad that didn't happen.

Please Microsoft, Please don't mess this up. Hopefully this will be a day 1 purchase.
