It isn't. 'Gears 5' and 'Tactics' are the only two on Steam. You can play and install Gears of War 4 off the Microsoft Store, or Xbox App.

I personally, don't understand who makes these types of decisions. Microsoft knows people want the games but they just do what they want to do.

Get it on Xbox Game Pass it's for $10 and the game story-wise is very good. Just bear with first act of campain which is weak in my opition.

Multiplayer was pretty much dead in Gears 4, but I played it like a year ago. Gears 5 seems to have better horde mode anyway :)

I guess it was exclusive to promote new (refreshed) Microsoft PC platform.
While Microsoft Store didn't really picked up as games platform, the XBOX PASS is quite popular these days, mostly due to price availability and 3rd party games on the platform.

You're not missing much anyway. Gears 4 on PC is a badly optimized mess. It's nearly 10 years old by now, and my PC can run it maxed out, but it suffers from bad stuttering whenever I load a new area. Basically a common problem with Unreal Engine 4 games, but Gears 4 was even less stable, and the game crashed on me several times. There was one cinematic that kept crashing my game, and it was really irritating, because it's right after a boss fight.

Gears 4 wasn't even really a great game. It's not bad, but it's not really well-paced and the balance feels a bit off because the new enemy variants are bullet sponges, so workhorse weapons like the Hammerburst, Lancer or Gnasher feel kinda underpowered compared to Gears of War Ultimate Edition or Gears 5.

I also really disliked how ammo for anything that's not the Enforcer, Hammerburst, Lancer, Markiza, Gnasher or pistols cannot be replenished by picking up ammo boxes. You have to pick up duplicate weapons instead. Thank goodness they reversed this decision in Gears 5, because the Longshot in Gears 4 wasn't even that powerful, but you never have enough ammo for it, so you'd only use it for that section where enemies are sniping you, then dump it once you're done.

gears 5 wont even install on game pass pc. it just stops installing half way and gives a error. and since game pass is a dollar rn i have to end up buying it on steam instead. Microsoft is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ company

Gears 4 isn't on steam for the same reason Gears Ultimate isn't, they're UWP titles.

The amount of work required to move them over to Steam is likely the issue. Wait for the collection set, it's definitely inbound.

I didn't know that Microsoft was being selfish with these games. It's like I bought the steam deck for nothing. I'm not really interested in cloud gaming because Xbox still has not fixed their glitches during cloud game play. Because of this, I can't even play Assetto corsa, Destiny, F1 24, The Crew 2, etc. I can go on, but it'll make me mad.

Destiny is 100% the devs preventing you from playing and Microsoft has nothing to do with Bungie.

Don't believe me? Mention Steam Deck on the Destiny forum and see how quick they ban you.

Edit: Actually none of the games you mentioned have anything to do with Microsoft.
