Gears of War 1, 2, and 3 need to be Remastered

I'm sure that this has been said a million times but those 3 games are classics, maybe I'm just old now but 4 and 5 just don't hit the same. I miss those games and I would even take just a PC Port to steam at this point.

I just got done playing Gears 1 Ultimate on the Microsoft store. It works.... could have been optimized better though. My 3060 had problems hitting 60fps on 1440p/high. Had absolutely zero problems with Dying Light 2 or Plague Requiem. A missing texture here and there and an otherwise dead multiplayer but absolutely zero problems getting it to run.

PC definitely needs Gears 2 and 3 remaster to finish out the collection. Maybe for it to even hit Steam. God, playing Gears 1 gave me massive nostalgia vibes. I use to play the piss out of it on Xbox Live back in the day. Made so many friends. What an absolute beast of a game.

Eh I kinda agree but I don't hate 4 or 5. It definitely missed the magic the original trilogy had. I consider the originals to be a ridiculous over the top bro shooter. 4 and 5 got too emotional with family and drama like you pointed out. That's literally the formula for every major game now.

Gears of War 1 non-Ultimate holds up very well, nearly everything that came out during and after the HD era does, also graphics don't matter that much.
Ultimate Edition is literally completely busted bc its big modern tech is already deprecated just after a few years of system updates meanwhile og still going strong after so many years with no incompatibilities, even online works better on it. Newer isn't always better, infact its often worse.

To be fair, I just played Gears 1 Ultimate, Gears 4, and now I'm on Gears 5. Gears 1, which I played the crap of back in the day on the 360, has aged. I liked Gears 4 campaign and I'm having a blast with Gears 5 horde. That being said, they aren't perfect and I understand why some Gears fans aren't happy with it.

Also in the other guy's defense, most remasters don't hold up because fans want faithful upgrades and they get re-imaginings. The list is remasters done right (e.g. Halo MCC) is waaaaay shorter than the list of remasters where devs messed up (e.g. Skyrim, Crysis, Silent Hill, GTA trilogy, etc).

I play all the games in the series. Judgment, 1, 2, 3 complete on xenia canary. 4 part in ms store. And all this is inconvenient. The games are still great and the collection on Steam from 1-4 is the ultimate dream. 5 I do not like - mediocrity. Lots of whining, too artifically prolonged and stupid. Worst part in the series. I hope they don't screw up part "six".

Gears of War 2 imo is still the best looking xbox 360 game even by today's standards. I don't want them to remaster 2 and 3 because they'll screw up with the atmosphere art style. The Coalition ruined GoW remastered because it looked way too clean and looked like a less "dark" atmospheric game.

I hate how squishy the swarm sound when you shoot them. Locust were more fun to shoot because they felt more menacing and malicious. kantuses screaming in the back with bloodriders and berzerkers. fun enemy types that allowed for different ways of approaching combat. Gears 4 and 5 have worse grenadier ai,l they just rush you with shotguns and never frag (idk if they even have frags). armoured and unarmoured swarm are basically the same. juviniles are wretches and lambent wretches (for the ones that blow up). Snatchers are just really annoying to fight, and the leaper things are stupid and unintimidating. they jump back and fourth but are easily melted by rushing them with a perfect reloaded gnasher. BTW what with being able to reload the whole magazine at any time? half the fun of the reload was that it was special. the fact that i can just do it again if i mess up makes it less special. Please Coalition, bring the trilogy to steam, no revamps or remasters. I miss shredding locust.

I am Japanese. 1.2.3.Judgment of the Gears series has wonderful Japanese voices and is a very memorable work. I also fell in love with the competitive play overrun in Judgment. I hope it will be released on steam as well.

Gears 2 and 3 got Xbox One X enhanced. They should just port those versions to PC.

Straight port would get a sale from me as long as it wasn't listed at full price. They're in Unreal engine, it can't be that hard for the community to do HD textures. Reshade will do the rest.

They should just remaster Gears 2,3 and Judgment and put the PC port of Gears 4 on Steam. Gears 1 is already remastered with Gears Ultimate edition on Xbox, so they would just have to port it to PC. It would be nice if they just made a Gears collection similar to MCC with Gears 1-4.
