I've no experience with it triggering, so I'll take your word for it. Perhaps you found the OP's problem then too.
What could possibly trigger that? All my other games run perfectly fine.
I've seen one video of someone reverse engineering an anti cheat system and practically all it did was check whether the essential memory ranges in the RAM were accessed by "non authorized"(read as, non operating system related) processes. That was five years ago though.
I don't know what Reshade is, but if it meets the above problem that might explain it. As for the OP: basically anything that relates to scanning your hardware in some way is a candidate if anti cheat is the problem.
all new downloads of steam and Gears 5 and still crash to desktop on startup.
Not going to ask for help there is no point of it unless you want to wait long for a patch or something lol.
Going to ask for refund and use the cash on Xbox games with ZERO issues.
Just thought I would post with all new hardware and all new software all fully up to date and still no luck. Have fun y'all.
