Game crashes at start.
Won't even load the main title screen. I'm currently installing new drivers for NVIDIA to see if that helps. Will continue to update... in the meantime, any suggestions?

Many thanks in advance!!

It's not a driver issue. The game has a very aggressive anti cheat. Something on your PC can be triggering it. Happened to me but I immediately knew what it was.
Why would anti cheat terminate the process without any warning? That makes no sense whatsoever.
That's how most anti-cheat goes about it.. They just crash the game immediately to desktop with no warning.

I've no experience with it triggering, so I'll take your word for it. Perhaps you found the OP's problem then too.

Can you give an example of what was causing the issue?
In my case was just reshade. I ran the game fine at first.. then I decided to see what I could get with reshade then I get the crash to desktop immediately after launching it. More or less what you're describing your problem. Could be something else... but it's surely not video drivers. My bet is the anti-cheat is not getting along with something on your PC.

What could possibly trigger that? All my other games run perfectly fine.

Some of them do though... You do get a anti-cheat msgs after crashing to desktop in some games... Who knows.. each one works in different ways and gets triggered by different stuff.

All your other games doesn't have a strong commitment with anti cheat. It's really hard to tell. Can be something completely unrelated to cheats or hacks...

What else is Easy Anti-Cheat in, maybe he has another game he could launch with it that might gives some more incite into the matter?

I've seen one video of someone reverse engineering an anti cheat system and practically all it did was check whether the essential memory ranges in the RAM were accessed by "non authorized"(read as, non operating system related) processes. That was five years ago though.

I don't know what Reshade is, but if it meets the above problem that might explain it. As for the OP: basically anything that relates to scanning your hardware in some way is a candidate if anti cheat is the problem.

New windows install fully up to date Nvidia 1060. i7 cpu all up to date drivers.
all new downloads of steam and Gears 5 and still crash to desktop on startup.
Not going to ask for help there is no point of it unless you want to wait long for a patch or something lol.
Going to ask for refund and use the cash on Xbox games with ZERO issues.
Just thought I would post with all new hardware and all new software all fully up to date and still no luck. Have fun y'all.
finally got it to run by going into the files and completely deleting the EasyAntiCheat folder then selecting the "verify integrity of files" option. After that used proton experimental and it booted up .
