Gears 5 Act 3 Chapter 1 hijack installment not working
me and my friend were playing the co-op campaign but when we hit act 3 chapter 1 we had to install a jack upgrade but when I install the upgrade it keeps telling me to install it when I've already done it please help

You or whoever play as Jack need to set Hijack active in abilities.
At least this is what i did when I played.

already tried that multiple times he tried it I did and even when no one played him we selected it but didn't work

It is strange but, there are many problems with Jack in co-op. Probably this is one of them too.

Here is what me and my friends do when we got the shield upgrade.
Log out whoever using jack.
Let braid speak until finish where he instruct you to take the upgrade, take it.
Press tab to open Jack upgrade menu, left click the upgrade then press escape to close the menu.
If didn't work try restarting the game.
