Somehow Gears 5 changed my username?

I started the game up, made an outlook/microsoft account. Picked my username as "Salty Mcgeezax".

The next day I loaded gears 5 up, and my username appeared as "KeyClaw63417115"

Did I do something wrong? I feel like that may be a defualt name, not sure. Is there any way to change my username back?

You look like a KeyClaw53417115 kinda guy. Just roll with it.

But on a serious note that does seem strange, and you might have to email microsoft support since I think its technically an Xbox gamertag.

Try going to: account.xbox.com
Log in with your xbox/microsoft account. Clicking your user name in the upper-right corner allows you to change both your Microsoft account info and your xbox profile. This should include your user-name.

Your username might have been reported by another user, a friend of mine had the username Mong UK ever since the xbox 360 was released and sometime last year his username was changed to a randomly generated name and he received a message saying his name was reported and he was entitled to a free name change if he wanted

i had same problem , i went to the chat with a live support and one assistant talked and told me what to do. I changed my username too first time for free but it bugged so i went contacted the live support , try it ! Mine got fixed after 24h

This right here. When you make an account, Microsoft just gives you a random username, but you can change it free once.

This comment almost made me roll with that username hahaha

If it became a headache I wouldn't mind sticking with it. Thankfully I was able to change it fairly easy on the xbox account website.
