Especially after a video sequence is finished. Looks like there is a bug in graphic resource management (maybe inside DirectX 12: many d12 games are instable.).
What a shame MS & nVidia cannot fix that for so long time...
I got no problems with the ultra HD DLC. Works fine for me.
I DO occasionally get some odd/glitchy graphics effects, some of which are a simple matter of turning off my actual monitor for a few seconds and turning it back on, some of which require restarting my entire pc, but I chalk that up to nothing being perfect, especially in the gaming industry where everyone always wants the latest game RIGHT NOW, GLITCH-FREE OR ELSE DEVS BAD, while the companies' higher-ups pushing them to release are often of the mindset that "it has to make (x) millions by this date or we're scrapping the project, money money money we'll fix the rest later IF we HAVE to."
I mean, I get it, malfunctions are frustrating, but before outright ranting with all shouts exclamation posts, please consider the following:
1: How long has it been since the franchise's last release vs. how long would it take YOU to release a fully optimized, error-free product (like what your posts seem to indicate you're expecting)?
2: What parts of the game are charged for/premium content (lots of games go full lootbox system these days, some of which also require you to buy the game or maintain subscription fees to boot) vs. how well done are all the features overall (premium and minimal investment). Gears 5 is actually pretty damn good, investment-vs-content-wise compared to some of the other recent releases out there.
Anyway, I've wandered off-topic a bit, sorry about that. I still have the textures pack installed and most of my settings are actually on "ULTRA", as the menu recommends them to be, aside from some which the game self-indicated "may cause performance degredation for your hardware" or whatever the exact wording was. Try to stick to recommended settings if you can, lowering them isn't guaranteed to help improve performance in this day and age, sometimes just unrestricting your settings and letting your PC run full-bore unless it sees a problem actually helps (kind of like how if you put in three circle-jerks side by side in a city to help direct traffic flow, some people aren't going to know how to use them). This is just what seems to help from what I've seen since picking the game up during one of the christmas season sales, I don't know if they'll work guaranteed, but I hope it helps all the same.
P.S. Actually I had to update my drivers recently, now that I think about it, could that be part of the issues you're having?
The problem is that the game crashes constantly, it's not some little bugs. I just went back to this game, updated my drivers, the game etc. i couldn't even get to the main menu before GW502 crash.
Sorry to hear that, but as I've crashed all of twice in over a month of owning the game, it's likely an issue on your end. If you PC is all up-to-date and has specs to run the game, then try messing around with a few settings. I turned the texure pack download off after my second crash and haven't had anything worse than the occasional stretched out bodyparts since, so maybe that would help?
disable hd textures, disable all overlays, steam overlay included, all programs in background
set gpu to default settings
Nobody said "it isn't a thing", they're saying "this isn't a thing for me, and here are some things I did to make it that way after double checking specs, and ACTUALLY PROBLEM SOLVING when i did have an issue." (as opposed to beaking off on steam to try and get the devs to do it for them, which to be frank is a rather unfair expectation. It works for consoles because they all have a uniform/standardized framework for their specs. This just isn't the case for PC users, who have a lot more options to choose from when buying or making their setup. It's LITERALLY impossible to cover all potential hiccups for every possible rig before even seeing most of them like that).
