Its "grate" huh? ........
Turning off crossplay is an option for xbox players. And they're heavy heavy nazis against PC players so expect 60-70% to turn crossplay off. And the rest will report you for cheating.
Then you deal with regional servers, matchmaking and ranks. Asian, Australian and EU servers are dead for the most part.
It's super tricky to find a match and when you finally do after a long queue time, you'll either have very unskilled players on your team and play against a pre-made team. Or people will just quit, AFK, or throw mid game.
If you enjoy terrible performance issues, crashing, severe input lag and dead servers, not to mention extremely bad balancing issues and lack of content, then sure, GoW5 is amazing. lol.
The input delay alone is a reason to not buy it.
For my personal opinion I think your standards are way too low to allow paying $30 for a game that will only entertain you for a week. Specially for an unfinished game like this one.
Gears 5, Just like Gears of War 4 is very rushed and unfinished. Rod fergusson the Studio head of The Coalition admitted that Gears 4 didn't have enough time and was rushed. Why is this relevant? It's because they've done the same thing again. Gears 5 was released unfinished and rushed.
That alone means the game lacks content and is not worth even half the price because it will not be enjoyable until it's truly finished. And just like with Gears 4, By the time this game will be "worth it" it will be too late. the players have ALREADY moved on and Gears 6 will be under development.
If you want to enjoy the game for a week(which there's a heavy chance you won't) You should just Gamepass it for a month then move on like most players. But now it's been TWO months since release and a LOT of players moved on. Average of 400 players on steam, maybe a thousand on the Microsoft store and its the 26th most played game on Xbox.
Rough numbers. You won't get a week out of this game for a dollar let alone 30.
And like i said before you need to have played Gears 4 to understand most of what's going on in the campaign and horde mode. and Gears 4 campaign IS SOOO BOOORRING.
Yes those things exist but that's not as common as you think. If you play multiplayer games solo then yeah I can see why you don't like it most of them are boring alone. But with friends almost every game is 10x more fun.
