gears 5 with a ps4 controller?

anyone knows if i can play gears with a ps4 controller?, is there a difference if i buy the game from microsoft store or steam, am i gonna be able to play with my ps4 controller or they are both the same, thanks

Well with Steam, if the game doesn't natively support a PS4 controller then steam takes care of that for you by making the game think it's an xbox controller

since you're on steam you can manually tweak it through the controller settings to work with almost any game that has any kind of controller support or let steam automatically do what it can about it :p

cause i know on steam i play a bunch of game with my ps4 controller, im not just sure about gears, cause i had gears 4 with the microsoft store and i never been able to play with my ps4 controller

i think OP talks about mapping, like not AYBX but ps4 square, circle and so on

Are you sure? I can play Gears of War 4 and Forza Horizon 3/4 with a DualShock 4. Still Xbox prompts, of course, but it does the same job as a Xbox controller.

I use DS4windows. Plays perfect with Gears 4.

I also wondering if there is native ps4 input support as well. Does anybody tried it with ps4 controller yet?

just played gears 5 tutorial with ps4 controller. mapping already done by the game. just needed to remember that x = A o = B square = X triangle = Y ... the triggers were easier :)
