How are you suppose to be able to beat this ♥♥♥♥♥ when she insta kills you every time on the third phase?

On a more serious note, if you got the upgrade for Jack that freezes enemies, use it.

The fight isn't that hard once I found out a couple things (there's 2 freeze guns at the end of the area, making life a lot easier). Also, I didn't know you could just shoot the ice and she falls right in (especially since there was a fight before it where only grenades and heavy weapons would crack the ice :P). That, and...you can sort of tell when Matriarch is going to toss her spikes...either get some huge distance, or trigger the Jack ability that gives you a shield.

What fight are you talking about?

Practically every area that has ice in it is susceptible to gunfire.

Try tossing grenades on to ICE, not where it's standing but in a direction away from you which forces in's back to be in your view, it will run towards the blast, you can follow up after the freeze ends with a jack upgraded flash assuming you gathered the parts.

Hey It depends on what you struggle with during this fight, If you cant see when you get stunned when you have a small window use the scanner pulse to see where she is. That helped alot in my hardcore playthrough. Or you can use the freeze upgrade on jack (considering you got it before you fight the matriarch) IF NOT ask a friend to help you in that part

You simply kite, freeze, shoot/plant frag grenade at Matriarch's back, then repeat the same rotation. You may also want to shoot the ice to freeze 'em.

Or you just cheat and lower the difficulty when you notice there is 0 reason to play on anything except the easiest and hardest difficulty

You're not stunned on the headache stuff. She walks right at you slowly. Every time I had the red screen, I'd just stand on the ice, wait till I could see her then shoot the ice underneath her. It's not rocket science.

Openly declaring I suck at boss fights...I just wish games would give you the option to skip with some kind of penalty and continue to enjoy the game. If it weren't for cheat codes never would have made it thru the last Doom and looking forward to next.

This isn't rocket science...let us dexterity challenged people somehow go on and let the high dex people belittle us, but just let us experience the game and not get frustrated and take a pass.
