Personally I have to say that the game simply isn't worth it - Gears of War 4 has much more content (and 4 player coop) and simply stays entertaining for longer.

If you're thinking of buying GoW5 but don't have GoW4 yet, buy GoW4. It's cheaper and you'll have more fun in that game than you will in GoW5 since GoW5 is a diet version. There's only 12 multiplayer maps in total (counting horde) and the escape mode is a mode that takes maybe 5 minutes to finish? It's basically a speedrunning mode so the maps are just straight corridors with no real detail, no depth or interactivity.
The story also only has 3 player coop meaning that if you used to play the old games for coop, you'll be very disappointed here.

The weird crafting system from GoW4 also makes a return except this time it's much, much harder to craft items. They really want you to throw money at the store to squeeze that extra cash out of you - in a sixty dollar title.

tl;dr - the game isn't worth it yet, wait until sale when they've added more content.

(also kudos to whichever mod deleted my previous post on this topic, way to silence consumers trying to help each other out with how to spend their hard-earned cash when the game sticks in the background on steam to ensure you can't refund after you stop playing since it keeps logging hours after being closed)

Multiplayer modes? Maybe. Because I wouldn't know, since I haven't played Gears multiplayer in any Gears games.

They added 25 more maps and lots of characters. Now they plan to add even more regularly and for free ... so OP is just being an OP and you know what OP is ... right?

Plus according to howlongtobeat.com the campaign in Gears 5 is 3 hours longer than 4.

Yeah, Gears 4 had a disappointing story too but that's why I keep mentioning Gears 3 as a comparison as far as modes go since horde, beast and the coop were far better than GoW4 and GoW5.

I'm glad you think so but a lot of people disagree. Also, Escape is much worse and is less fleshed out than Beast mode was in Gears of War 3. But I guess you can't expect the same quality that Epic Games put out back in the day.

Honestly no one should buy Gears 4 or 5, money$oft ruined the franchise by putting in these stupid gen z kids. No more grizzled men beating each other with brutal executions. 3 should of been the last game in the series.
