This man here gets it, Felt like this game got butchered in terms of ACTs compared to Gears 1-3
Can you elaborate on why the open-world aspect is lackluster?
Before anyone says Gears of War series is about the horde mode and PvP multiplayer, the campaign in past Gears of War games were pretty special. At least the ones I mentioned. I played a lot of Horde mode and multiplayer versus, but damn, I always enjoyed the campaign. Sad to read this.
I know people don't like Cliff B., but he knew what he was doing when it came to the series. Gears of War 2's campaign was superb.
That is one of my greatest pet peeves in open-world video games, by the way.
The story is boring, and not at all engaging. The open-world segments are empty and feel exceedingly tedious.
Also, if you have two other friends, I hope one enjoys playing a borderline useless robot that cannot hide behind cover, and mostly functions as something that carries ammo to other players, and grants a buff every...20-40 seconds...
If the robot player tries to attack anything more than one grunt locust - say hello to death.
You know that annoying robot companion in other games? Yeah, it's the same thing, except it's you. And you're just as useless.
If I sound bitter - I am. I have been playing the robot the entire campaign so far and it sucks. It really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sucks. It's actually some of the least amount of fun I have had playing a coop game.
