Is anyone having problems with frame rate stutters?
Hey guys,
I've been having issues with frame rate stuttering throughout the game, mostly in the story. I tried lowing my settings but its still exactly the same and I don't understand why. The game isn't overly demanding in graphics.

I've got a GTX 1060
with 16 GB ram

I even tested it on low and the stuttering is still there but again only in the story. My drivers are up to date and everything and I just can''t figure out what the issue is. This is the only game I'm having this issue, many of the other new releases I run on ultra without any problems at all.

Try turning off "Tiled Resources", this option does not work correctly on some configurations. Also, try uninstalling Ultra HD texture pack if you have it installed, some people are reporting stuttering issues with it even with moderate Vram usage.

DigitalFoundry reported that stuttering also present if dynamic res scaling is enabled, which it is by default.

Yeah, I saw that, might also be worth a try! But that's actually kinda interesting - some people reported that they had stuttering UNTIL they set dynamic resolution scaling to some marginal value (98%, I think).

Since it's enabled by default it will stutter if GPU is near max load(i.e. when it drops resolution to maintain framerate). So, as of now, it might stutter if the dynamic res scaling is enabled at all, regardless of what value it's set.

Probably best to wait for the Nvidia drivers to drop tomorrow and see if that helps.

Yeah, I know, they said that in the video. Im just considering all options, and Tiled Resources were causing stuttering in Gear 4 on some configuration. It's the usual PC thing where some solutions might work for some people, not work for others, and some people don't have any problems at all. It's worth trying multiple fixes.

Glad to be of help, hope your problem gets resolved! I doubt it's anything significant, just some minor hiccup - game should run good and look great on your hardware.

To OP: Did you ever get this fix? I am having this issue. Bought the game yesterday, and still cannot play it due to the horrible stutter. My PC currently running a GTX 1060, i7 7700k, and 16gb of memory.

Some of the things people suggested helped reduce it, but ultimately the driver update that was released eliminated everything. So now the game runs super silky smooth on max settings

Thanks for the update. I tried the latest driver from Nvidia and it still is not working for me. So weird....
