How to enable HDR
Here's the trick I've found to work:
Under graphics settings:
Lower the "Window Resolution Scale" to slightly below 4K settings (98%).
Works on Gears of War 4 and on this one too.
Hope this helps!

there is no HDR option or support for gears of war 4 on pc ?
and you can turn hdr on gears 5 by turning hdr on from the windows first , then you will see hdr option on/off from the video setting inside the game , my resolution scale is 100% and the hdr working nicely without any issue .

For whatever reason, despite having it enabled in Windows settings and as an option in Gears 5, it didn't work until I lowered the scale resolution. In Gears 4 I don't remember seeing an option to enable HDR.

Resolution scale doesn't have to be low 100% native resolution. Luckily, I can run HDR no problem in Gears 5 while leaving as native resolution at 100% by default.

OK, I updated the thread's title.
If everything is working the way it should, yes. As for my scenario, it was not (and I do have the proper hardware). Lowering the resolution scale to get it to work is something I stumbled across. Thought it might help some others. :)
